Aaron’s proposed Pennsic Schedule

Post by Aaron »

Hi,

Here is the plan. Does it look right? I’m trying to maximize the fighting if at all possible. With the exception of a shopping trip for a friend, I would like to fight whenever physically capable. Work and family are taking me away from fighting for a bit, and this is THE week I have for fighting, and I plan to wallow in it with wild abandon.

I'm running 30 minutes and swimming 30 minutes (freestyle) every day to increase my stamina, with a little weight lifting thrown in as well.

Saturday, 19-Aug-06
8:00 Until Quest Complete for Fisher House Charity
21:00 Check into a local hotel or something (like sleep on the ground) and enjoy a good mead or home-brew and think a lot.

(somewhere in here ship my armour back to Japan, or plead my case to Duke Gavin, my host, to help me request someone to ship the armour back…I’ll pay the $300 for Express Shipment)

Sunday, 20-Aug-06
Shuttle, bus or beg a ride to Pittsburgh International Airport and snore loudly on the plane, with a HUGE smile…and wake up for the stops in Denver, Las Vegas and Seattle before touching down north of Tokyo…

I’m going to ENJOY this! It’s time to get a year of fighting in the week I’ve got to play with!

After 1000 bouts I should learn SOMETHING I hope! I’m a slow learner, but a 1000 bouts should do it for one lesson that sticks with me. Maybe “Don’t do this again,â€Â

I'll come out one morning and play. I'm a morning person but not a very structured person so I can't say WHICH morning.

And if you can't get enough fighting in at Pennsic well...

see ya there

Master Lucius, are you still meeting Sir Alfred after the Warriors of History tournament to discover whether you will have to bear the couter still, or whether he shall carry it on?

I think Aaron would like to see this.

Aaron,

The Fight for kids thing is in 2007.

I would love to find you and fight you to raise funds for fisher house, but the whole FFK thing is happening next year.

Ouch.

I'll fight for Fisher House on my own then.

Thanks for the motivation to get this started!

Hey, Aaron, looks like we may meet at some of the tourneys. Just remember I'm old, and don't beat my ass too hard.

Hope you have a great time; just don't push yourself too hard, Man.

Heh... The last guy who said that was Sir Rob.

He was knighted in 1979, creaked onto the field, gingerly put on our plastic loaner armour, asked some basic questions, said he hadn't fought in 15-20 years...and then smacked Phalen and I with some really excellent wrap shots to the left leg.

Claimed it was just luck. And then did it again. And again. And again.

I was hobbling away with numerous bruises on my buttocks and thigh (and a nasty one on the inside tendon of knee...unlucky shot) and thought, "That is the last time I fall for that trick!"

If you say you're old, I'm scared.

I was told by a friend of mine if someone says "Take it easy on me, I'm old" you should RUN! They're really good and using every edge long life has given them...including subterfuge.
