Steel toe fighting boots?

Post by Skutai »

I'm tired of getting the big toe on my left foot crushed by some duke-and-a-half every war. Can anyone recommend a good pair of steel-toe fightin boots? They'll need to be able to pass our 10' appearance rule.

Cheers.

Go to a super wal mart. They have a steel toe work boot that looks pretty good. I've had mine for two years now and even had them resoled as they are now broke in for my wide feet and I don't want to go through another break in period with a new set.

SKutai.. they are called Sabotons.. :)

I always just fought in 14" smooth shafted steel toe boots.

One buckle across the instep, black leather.. no one ever gave me any guff about em.

LOL...actually, I would say that if your are getting your toes stepped alot perhaps a review of your combat style is in order. In turn shoes or other boots I never got my toes stepped on much. Still if you feel safer in the boots then get them.

To each his own....

My combat style works great, as I said in the other thread, It just that one time someone dropped so quickly to his knees and landed on my toes, 300 + pounds, knee cops, toes and asphalt just don't make a good combo.... because of that, I will always wear steel toes.....

I also got smacked on the shield elbow so I will always wear an elbow cop on my shield arm too....

When you get injured doing this game, you tend to make sure you don't get hurt their again.... I am all for making you kit as authentic as possible if that is what floats your boat....

My main goal in SCA fighting is to have fun and not get hurt....

I wear plain old modern boots with "cover-ups" inspired by D Sebastian's (here).

You can just barely see mine in this pic...
