Charity Tournament

Post by DELETEMYACCOUNT »

Hey there! This is to let you all know we're doing our annual charity tournament again this year at Pennsic. As before, all are welcome to come fight, the entry fee/donation is $5. This goes to the Susan G Komen foundation for breast cancer research. This we do in honor of Talia Greypanther who we lost to this disease. Non-combatants are welcome as well, donations are accepted from anyone who cares enough to give. Last year we raised a couple of grand For the cause and I'd like to do that again. At least that.
The format of the tournament is simple. You and your opponent each draw for your weapons. No shields. We'll have a metric assload of weapons there but you would do well to bring gauntlets. There will be grappling allowed in this tournament so be prepared. If you're a member of a household or clan invite all your people to come out. I'm also working on lining up drummers and dancers, I'm gonna have a grill going with hotdogs and burgers, there'll be good water there and a very high level of competition and honorable combat.
This year the prize for the winner will be a custom made blanket with the date of the tournament, our symbol, and the pink ribbon design, made by Tess, Garans wife and donated to the cause. I got to see this at estrella folks and I was very impressed. It's beautiful.
This year I'm also gonna acknowledge the best kit in the tournament, totally judged by me completely subjectively. I'm also gonna try and line up a prize for that too, so wear your best and come show your generosity, your courage, your prowess and your respect for every woman that ever lived and ever will live.
As soon as I get confirmation of the time slot I'll post it here with all pertinent details.
Thanks y'all!

Note from JT - while a great and cool thing, this is not an official Archive event (we don't have official Archive events). While I don't see how anyone could get screwed by this, if you do, don't blame the Archive. Or at least, don't expect me to do anything more than say "aw... too bad."

Last year was the most fun I've ever had fighting, ever. I can't wait.

Animal,

Please provide what day and when at Pennsic. The tourney sounds like fun, and it's for a good cause.

Also, on a personal note, I owe you a "dance" or two. Perhaps then?

Thanks,

Mord.
Keep calm and carry a bigger stick.

Most fun you can have with clothes on.

On top of our entry fees, Clovenshield will pony up 100 bucks to support breasts.

We are vile honourless mercenaries, will the rest of you allow us to shame you with our generosity?

I will pledge a brooch of silver, gold, and enamel, by my hand, bearing the Tuchux badge and pink ribbon, which may be used as the best kit prize.

I've been wanting to try my hand at the tuchux tourney for a while now. All of my friends who have had the fortune to participate in it say its great fun, and all for a great cause to boot. If I make it to Pennsic, it would be an honor and a privilege to fight.

probably one of the best tourneys i have ever been in. People hitting hard but no malice. Grins all around.

Maybe i will have my chin strap fixed by then.
That massive sucking sound isn't jobs going to Mexico. It's the press corp of DC visiting the White House

Remember folks farts are NOT warm and lumpy!!!

Still can't figure out why i am burned out from fighting.

Today a box arrived from across the world. Our own Aaron has generously donated a box of artifacts for the sake of the tournament. Enclosed were two sets of beautiful cups, an oil lamp, a beautiful lock from tibet, a beautiful scroll case and a camel whip. The cups, lamp and lock will be part of a silent auction taking place at the tournament. There will be a piece of paper by each piece with a place to write down your bid. At the end of the tournament the highest bidder gets the piece with all proceeds donated to the Susan G Komen foundation for breast cancer research, just like the rest of the money from donations. The scroll case I'm saving. I hope to have a scroll illuminated and decorated so I can record the names of the winner of this tournament and previous winners if I can get a list of them all. The whip, well, we wont talk about that in public :)
Thanks Aaron for your generosity. It's an example that we should all follow.

Thanks Animal,

Something else is enroute to you, to fill in a spot.

Do you need another whip? I know there would be bidding on something like an artistic whip.
With respect,

-Aaron
