Aten Crown list

Post by Ingvarr »

It would probably save a lot of time just to list those who are not fighting crown this time, but here it is. The only error I see is that Lord Gawin Nordmann, is Sir Gawin Nordmann as of Grand Court at Estrella. I'd be interested in Dark Apprentice's take, I have no clue. It will be fun to watch though.

I'd say Phelan, Craven, and Keigan are the obvious favorites, but you should never write off an old duke like Mathghamhain (look what Dietrich did in Caid or Lorell in Calontir).

I thought you had to say Dark Apprentice!'s name three times to summon him?

I think we need one more Dark Apprentice! to round out the total.

Hi!

I popped by Pehlan's thread first, but I am appearing here, because there are more people on this thread.

There are many great and preaux fighters in this list. I must ponder it.

I don't know about odds but from what I have seen since Estrella is that the list is going to be deep. Dukes Phelan and Craven are my 2 for the finals. Though with this much talent in a crown it's a tough call.

I think Sir Dougal recently said that he was not competing in Crown Tourney this time around, as they are heading to Gulf Wars and then autocratting our local event a few weeks later. I certainly could be wrong, though.

I'm putting Duke Arthur, Zippy, Kazimir, and Morgan in the Semis just because they all showed for fighter practice last night. Morgan didn't fight though so I'm not taking him into the finals.

This is one of the deepest lists I have ever seen. I wonder how many peopel who are entered in it will actually fight? That would significantly change the odds depeneding on who dropped out or not.

I do not foresee an unblet making their way all the way to the end of this list. There are just too many good fighters in it for that to happen I think, therefore, none of them have odds above 50-1. Normally, I usually see someone who is a very strong contender at the top, but this tournament I think will be very contentitious with lots of great fights in it, particularly as the Dukes, Counts, and former Crown finalists start to face off against one another near the end.

Right now, the wily lefty, Cosmo Craven the Elder is topping my list. I fought in a tournament once as Cosmo Craven the Younger (much Younger!), but no one got it :( I see a lot of new Crown level talent here, we will see if they are able to break through early, and create the opening they need to advance.

In any case, I hope for great weather, and an exciting but good clean day. If anyone desires more commentary, please ask.

Odds:

Duke Sir Cosmo Craven 7-1
Duke Sir Arthur O'Flaherty 10-1
Duke Phelan Ó Coileáin 10-1
Sir Keigan Broussard 12-1
Sir Aaron Christopher 15-1
Duke Sir Mathghamhain MacAlpine 15-1
Thegn Sir Tristan Dragonheart
Viscount Sir Justin du Roc 20-1
Master Sir Tighearnain 25-1
Master Sir Donngal Buchanan 25-1
Sir Jason Thorne of Antioch 27-1
Viscount Sir Dmitri Mischovitch Kazimirovich 30-1
Sir Walrick de Blakeney 33-1
Sir Johannes von Brueckenheim 35-1
Sir Gregory Wynterson 37-1
Sir Elias Loredan 38-1
Sir Gawin Nordmann 40-1
Sir Dougal MacPherson the Tall 45-1
Sir Sylvester The Black 47-1
Sir Irvin MacLeod 50-1

Over 50-1

Baron Ryan Dollas
Baron Otto Langenhurst Von Baden
Lord William Mhicaindro
Lord Tymothy Blackwell
Bantiarna Medb McLeod
Lord Michael of Marl
Lord Malachi Tay
Lord Heinrich von Swartzenberg
Lord Oslaf of Northumbria
Lord Dietrich Nibelung
Lord Malis der Totschlager
Lord Vallaúlfr Rurikson
Lord Morgan AEthelwulfes sunu
Lord Temur Arslan
Lord Robert Aonghus of Loch Mohr
Lord Mederic de Chatellerault
Lord Squire Iohn Hambledon
Lord Kazimir Konstantinov
Lord Temurmaghad Ghubiyan
Lady Mina Fioravanti
Lord Kazimer Velentov
Lord Thomas de l'Espee
Lord Crispin del More fights
Lord AElfred Lionstar of Ravenspur
Zhigmun' Broghammer
Faelen O’Phelan
Mistress Cassia Mortivaux

special side bet: will Faelen O'Phelan fight Phelan? 25-1. And win? 3720-1. Odds of guys who read the armour archive knowing the relevance of 3720-1? 1-1 (nerds, all of you. I swear! Don't say you don't get it.)

Enjoy,

DA

Did you just say the possibility of Faelan o'Phelan successfully navigating the Crown field are approximately 3720 to 1?

Thought I'd make that even easier for everyone. :D

It was a great tournament. It came down to Sir Tristan, Sir Walrick, and Duke Phelan in the finals, each having one loss after Sir Tristan beat Duke Phelan in the Semis. Sir Tristan beat Sir Walrick, Duke Phelan beat Sir Tristan, Duke Phelan beat Sir Walrick.

Wow, I was expecting to see Keigan at least in the semis.
Who took out Keigan and Cravon?
Hark the moaning gulls around him,
Hark their shuddering calls of terror
At his fearful fighting pæan.

I'm going to try and get a complete round by round breakdown as there was far too much going on to see it all and I'm pretty curious. Some of the people I thought were going o last until late were gone in two and a couple that I was surprised were even on the list went fairly deep. About half of the list was removed by a ridiculously destructive bye fighter in the person of Duke Sir Aaron Graves, fighting florentine. Some really great fighting all day though.

Keigan was trying to fight through a knee injury and wasn't himself. This was a pretty deep list for its size, and 2 of the three finalists were guys I had picked. Pretty good day, all told.

Heck, they should have just invited the other three Horsemen of the Apocalypse to join them for feast... That's a tough list.

Can't wait to see Lady Amirah as Queen.
