I think it has already happened once, wasn't pretty.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.
I have never felt good about it. People "pose" in pictures- they are forced to try to control the outcome of the picture. I don't want to be a poser, and I don't like anyone else being in control of how I am presented. I consider it a no-win situation. It makes you either reveal who you really are, or who you want people to think you are. I don't like revealing who I am to people I may not know or like, and I don't like being forced to show who I would like people to think I am.
Neither one is anyone's business.

Personnally I prefer candid photos over posed shots, unless it is meant as a portrait. One of dez days I'm gonna get a good cameral like M. Pillips with a lense so big you'll never know your within reach.

Aron the sword was carved from a 2-1/4" peice of rattan. I used Waxed leather on the edges to support the pulp of the wood. Feed back I recieved on the blows recieved was good. Although I have to admit the movement of the sword is changed abit because of the shape. I like it because it feels more like a real sword. Now I just need to get more appropriate hardware to make a couple of different styles. Thanks for the possitive feed back.

the leather is baked harden leather. I have tried regular leather and just waxed. Neither really seen to help the pulp very much as both allow the force of the blow through. I figured the harden leather would work as 1. it gives a crisper blow as opposed to the soft blow of plain leather. 2. it would provide more protection to the wood and would not break down as fast. It is still flexible and didn't change the property of the material nor did it take away from the shape of the peice. After a 3 hour practice and 4 hours of using it on the pell ( 6" sleel pipe ) the sword shows no wear on the edges . I'm an very happy with it so far.

Ya know, the Pennsic I went to some years back, I stopped Vitus on his way to war and asked if I could take his picture (he was in full rig carrying his spear).
He turned to me, glared, and said in the most direct and even voice I have ever heard, "Take the damn picture." I snapped it as quickly as possible.
I wasn't insulted at all by his tone, simply scared that I had offended a man I respected. It all makes sense now, though!
The next I saw him it was after battle. He was thanking God for the challenges granted on the field and the victory over two Atlantian (I think?) men in the King's Guard.
For my second event ever, this man completely awed me.
