desperatly trying to pick a fight in Florida

So I moved to Port Saint Lucie Florida about six weeks ago and have been having very little luck trying to find folks to fight woth down here.
The local senechal has been very helpfull, but the local fighter contact can't or won't or is unable to respond to her attempts to track him down- a gentleman by the name of Constantine-
I have a yard that we could practice in if there is currently no local practice. While rusty, I'm a decent fighter as well as teacher and as many on the armor archive can attest to I can be a fun fight. Right now I'm just looking to get my fighting legs back under me so to speak but I need someone to fight! I lost interest in the SCA a while back for a variety of reasons and really want to get something going while I still have the momentum of being interested.
If anybody is in the area, please, PM me, e-mail me, send smoke signals up, whatever! If anyone knows someone in the area, please pass this along to them.

Is PSL on the Gulf Coast? I know a gentle who, if I recall aright, lives on the Gulf Coast side and he's an Atlantian expat to boot . . .

Sadly, no. PSL is on the other coast, near Stuart, Fort Pierce, Palm City...

If the shire there is not giving you much, go south to west palm beach. http://www.seamarch.net/ HRM lives there. Also Coronation the end of Aug. Feel free to look me up.

Unfortunatly psl does not have many active fighters. I believe that I posted in the past about your situtation. As mentioned from an earlier post, there is a good fighter practice to the south of you in west palm beach. Duke Mittion is a very nice fight and his guys are good too, I believe that the practice is on sunday, but I'm not sure about the schedule with pensic.
To the best of my knowledge there is nothing happening in Indian river county. The next one to the north is in melbourne, it happens at rhodes park on mitton in west melbourne at 3pm on the 1st and 3rd sundays. Also on most wed. nights from 6pm until ?, there is one in my front yard. If you contact me I can try to get a practice together in melbourne area at some other time.
FYI Sir Redwald plays up in the jax area.

I had a great time, thank you Odo! Both your squires were very cool and you were all fun fights.
The heat and humidity absolutly sucked more than I expected them to. Made me feel like a rank newbie!

had to clean my screen after that message,coke is sticky if it sets to long and burns the nose like hell to boot :shock:

Jeff may have his "Artsy" side yet his ability in combat and Teaching
fighting are well known,this I'll vouch for from personal experince.add to that his shop kicks butt and it does not get much better !!

Muttman, you might check out if there is an Adrian empire group close to you. FLA has a number of active groups. Many have told me there is not much SCA in So. FLA. I know they have a very different culture there than here on the west coast, but I'm sure that is true in the SCA too.

Your SCA fighting is very applicable.

Got together with the guys again last night. Small practice, just the three of us, but it was a little cooler and less humid. That made a big difference and I didn't feel like a complete feeb. A good time was had by all I believe with a few bruises to go around!

Right on! Too bad it is such a long distance away from me. You may also want to try getting together with Jeff up in Melbourne. It is a quick drive if you can talk either Sir Khalim or Mustafa or both into traveling with you.

Or, travel South to WPB. Another good practice there when you can catch them.

It was nice to recieve the complaments. As for the "art fag" comment, I heard that it was said in a recent chiv. meeting. So I'm running with it, but you know that I can also play "stick jock".

I'm sorry that I missed your fighter practices, you and others are always welcome to visit us up here in melbourne. Please contact me when your practices are a bit more regular and I and others will try to come down.
Third to FrauHirsch
You are right about the south of flordia having many adrian groups, there were 5 subdivisions at the last banner war. I do not believe that there are many active adrians in port st. lucie, I think that the next group is closer to west palm beach.
Also to switch from sca armour to adrian armour normally requires some changes (for example, on a helment no opening larger than 3/4", etc...) Another change is the lack of "power" in the blows, in the sca "power" counts and in adria a touch is good.
To Drefan
If you want to try adria (google adrian empire) it is fun to play with more realistic weapons, but if you want to become a better fighter keep fighting people of simiallar caliber as were at your saturday practice.
