Jess Vitus's squire

I think she bought it for her, might have been for someone else.

Pics are concentrated on the known world novice tourney and Baron Ateno of Annun Ridge's elevation to the Pelican. My lovely lady Giovanna took all the photos.

Hi again Murdock,

Interesting...I didn't know you did any armouring. Are your breastplates spring steel?

I do a little, slowly doing more.

That globose is in spring. I don't have alot of spring on hand so i usually do stainless and Aluminum.

Mianly because thats what people ask for.

I made bout half of my rig for the 30 this year.

Cet made the greaves and vambraces, Hedgecock made the legs and the helms's not my work. The body, elbows, spaulders, guantlets and greave backs all mine.

I could do another one i have another spring blank. I have made 4 now, started #5.

Lol, saw those last night, while looking thru Pennsic Pics. I am still finding it funny, seeing my old Bascinet with aventail on Duke Michael of Bedfords son Kaylun. He is the one on first page in purple, next to Duke Brion of Terragons son.

anyone get any pics of the guy with only half of left arm fighting for calontir ? hope you all don't think i'm vain or anything but i'd like to see what i looked like out there. of course you couldn't tell until i unstrapped my shield anyways so probably not. i was the only calontir guy that had black horse hair on my helm. just thought i'd ask. i saw a few cameras pointing my way a few times.
if it isn't armour, or you can't take it to bed, it isn't worth havin'

I bought it for me, but it was too flat. I seem to be a little more... 3D? rounder?... than you. Sure fits my boss though.

I knew you made it but didn't realize you were making stuff for other people. So you interested in making me one for some $? Now that I've picked it up, and realized it weighs less than plastic, I gotta have a spring kit. I'm not going outside NA, and since I can't afford a $15,000 kit yet, and Stonekeep tells me he's not ready, that pretty much leaves you cornering the spring market.

Thanks for sharing that Melisent.

I love fighting, and I cant miss a war point, but sometimes seeing pics like these, just reminds me of how much more Pennsic is sometimes, and how much I sometimes miss cause of fighting everything.

Need to remember to take an afternoon off or two, just to walk around Pennsic next year, as long as there is no war point, and look around. I cant remember the last time I did that, probably been close to 13 years.

I have posted the first two galleries of my Pennsic picture trove. These consist of spars taking place on Wednesday thru Friday of the first week ("The first week") and that Saturday ("the first Saturday"), about 600 some odd pictures in all.

Some samples. First, from the spars:

And then, from Saturday:

My personal situation remains unsettled, if not quite so dire as I'd thought. Still, I'm not sure when I'll be able to post more, especially since Sunday was a very busy day (Opening ceremonies, Combat and the Thirty and Lost Boys, among other stuff), but I'm going to shoot for early next week. Of course, I will post here when I do so. I've barely scratched the surface of what I have!

It was a privilege to be present and record some of the wonderful events of Pennsic. Thanks to all of you for such a great War.

(Edit) I suppose I should provide some links to make it easier on you all:

The shame of it is that he actually put time and effort into it and made it out of white plastic.

I wouldn't say "yank him off the field".

After all, he isn't breaking any actual rules. But I do wish he had put on a surcoat or something.

I'm hoping that the plastic was free and was the only material he had to work with, and that he has a half finished suit made from leather and steel at home.

I took that guy's picture because he was inspiring. If he is new, then he REALLY wants to be there with us. REALLY wants to be there.
If he is an old hand, he is either lazy or a smart ass. That is also sort of funny.
This type of thing doesn't bother me anymore. I like the SCA on all of it's levels...

Well, I don't use Mercs as a pejorative, or as an expectation of a crappy appearance. Clanne Preachain is certainly at the favorable end of the spectrum, as they double as a living history group specializing in iron age celts. Still, hard to get away from the obligatory gauntlets.

re: the guy in white plastic

Praise what is worthy, tolerate what is not.

If he's new help him, if newbs look bad thats our fault for not teaching them better.

if he's been round a while and is just being "fugly on purpose" then thats his renoun.
