Greetings All,
I read a posting, started a while ago, where some worthies here in the AA and in the SCA proper had discussed the possibility of organizing a battle at Pennsic, to commemorate the stand of the 300 and their allies against the Persians.
At the time the movie "300" had just come out and it seems that people were inspired to discuss the matter. But it seems to have faded as if once the movie was no longer current, the matter was forgotten. I ask myself whether the commemoration was just an insubstantial fade, or it was meant as a homage of honor remembered.
As such I entreat all those who can make it happen, to consider once more whether this is possible. There are worthy Dukes and Counts and Knights who carry more than honorably Greek names and arms. To them especially goes my respectful question.
My humble participation, as it is, is offered together with my question.
Respectfully,
Rowan of Needwood
