One of my good friends will be our next Baron, and since he's a Viking persona I may just dust off my old viking self (first persona) for the duration (kinda as a show of support). Anyway, that gave me the itch to make a piece of viking spiffyness. So, here's a tooled leather SCA seax sheath I finished this afternoon. It's handsewn from roughly 8-10 oz veg-tanned leather with a design I modified from historical examples. It measures 15 3/4" from mouth to tip.
The design wraps around the piece, so it's usable by either a righty or one of those sinister types. :P There's also a pic of the design laid flat.

I'm pretty pleased with it.

BTW, I put it in the Classifieds if anyone's interested.

One word: sweeeeeet.
I don't do viking or celt but that is excellent. I would add a bit of copper or brass trim along the seam edge to make it really pop. And stand back and watch while people fight over it.
