Rus armour picture.
Rus armour picture.
I pilfered this picture of D Sebastians site, I´ll remove of course if asked, just wondering if this picture is contemporary to the time period it portrays or if it is modern. Thanks in advance.

It's typical "Russian Icon" armour.
So, to answer your question: yes and no, but mostly yes depending on WHAT period you're looking for.
The shield, helm, and use of lamellar are all documentable.
The Ptruges ("feathers") on the upper arms and lower torso point to a heavy byzantine influence and likely existed for a long period and into the into the 15th century if you go by existing artwork.
For Russian Icons, you'll find that look all the way to present.
The chest disc doesn't look very Rus to me, but its not my field -- so I'll defer to someone else on that.
So, I'd say that it is a religious depiction of a Kievian Rus.
Just know that you're using art as a reference, and that Icons kinda got stuck in a "style".

Begging your pardon, Diomedes, but is the image from a period source, or a modern one ?
That was how I understood the initial question - - and even if I misunderstood the OP's intent, I would like to know the answer to my version of the question

Your Grace,
No idea, but I'm leaning toward modern depiction based on the style.
BTW, the Russian translates "Armour 13-14 Cent".
