Chesapeake Bay area - sending you a newbie

Post by freiman the minstrel »

Guys,

I have been working for the last month or so with a new guy that is about to move to the Norfolk, Va area.

He, like me, is kind of a goober.

He isn't a bad guy, just a little, well, gooberish.

His name is Eric, and his SCA name is Hector.

He has a Bokalo Kiss helmet, manages to hit soundly, and likes round shields, walks on the beach, sunsets, long conversations, and hitting people with sticks.

His turn offs are insincere people, loaner gorgets that don't fit right, and getting hit on the back of the leg.

He has been in training for about a year, but he keeps having to move from one area to another, so it's all disjointed and it is tough for him to find any real coherence. He is a game dog, willing to go back to the bear pit despite the railroad tracks on the back of his left thigh, but he sometimes needs a little reinforcement.

He's about six foot, and I am guessing about two fifty. Yes, he is a little small for an SCA fighter.

I am trying to find him a somebody reputable as a POC on the other side of the pond. If I don't push him to stay in training, he will just languish for a couple of months after he arrives until he accidentally stumbles into the SCA.

So, anybody want to buy a newbie?

Paging His Excellency, Baron Donal Mac Ruiseart.

If I were moving to the Barony of Marinus, I could imagine no better guide.
The good Baron has always excellent advise.

Here is the barony's "New" website (meaning it is still under construction):

Great to have a new fighter join Atlantia.
