Three Old Midrealm Crown Videos

Post by Zygmunt Nadratowski »

I am starting a new project, to preserve and re-introduce many of our legendary fighters to those for whom the names are wrapped in fable and enigma, or to visit them early in their careers. It is also a way for those to re-visit old friends.

However, the process is slow, and I am not terribly patient. ;) I realize this footage is poor – the final version will be of a better quality. So, here is a sneak peek. This footage is from the collection, and courtesy of, Duke Dag Thorgrimsson.

(edited to add) If you know who any of these people are, please comment. For example, I know who most of the marshals are (Moonwolf, Eliahu, Comar, etc) but not all, so please post about them as well. Everyone in the video is fair game. :)

First up is (Sir) Ix versus an unknown Knight, in the Crown Tournament of Comar & Lisa I -

Next up is Sir Forgan Aurelius, opponent unknown, in the Fall Crown Tournament of Finn & Garlanda I -

Finally, the final bout of the finals of the same Crown –
Jarl Dag Thorgrimsson versus Sir Jafar al-Safa -

There is more to come - Enjoy!

I think that may be Thorbjorn Osis that Forgan is fighting.

Thanks, Sir.

Also, while it may not be eevident in this copy, at the beginning of the bout with Ix, someone near the camera thought that he was fighting Brusten. Duke Palymar wasn't so sure that's who it is though, and after looking at it again, it may not even be a Knight Ix is fighting. What I thought was a white belt may be trim.

I am inclinded to disagree. To the best of my knowledge, Osis never wore metal knees or elbows. Also, this fighter doesn't move like Osis did. He also seems to be too short :)

Sir Forgan is fighting (now Sir) Amaranth.

Ix appears to be fighting Ephraim, but I am not positive.

This is awesome Zygmunt!
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

My guess is that Ix is fighting Brusten, based on the heraldry on the shield. Not 100% sure though.

Thanks Kenrec.

Everyone, it definately is Sir Amaranth. I contacted him and he confirmed it.

Your Grace Edmund, I have quite a bit of footage of you that will be coming up soon. For this sneak peek, I wanted to concentrate on our old, departed legends to give (relative) newcomers a chance to see them in action. I am looking for footage of Osis too.

Garreth, I will be contacting Sir William, and Duke Brannos has also offered to donate film as well. I suspect I won't lack for volunteers once this thing takes off. :D
