Looking on interest on my old roman ridge helm

I am never going to use this again, but it also has some personalized bronze work on it, so not sure who would be interested in buying it if I put it up for sale.

I dont know maybe you could do some work and change some of the stuff to your personal stuff. But just seeing if anyone would be interested in it.

Its 14 gauge stainless. Though where the bands and such are its thicker now. My head size is 23 1/4" and fits me fine.

Just checking on interest right now. Not definite I am going to sell due to the personal stuff on it.

Awesome helm Sir Finn!

Did Master Magnus make that (WMA)...?

Looks beautiful. :) I'm looking for a late Roman helm myself, but probably not as soon as I had thought (darn money...), so not til late this year is my guess.

If I can ask, what about the bronze work is personal? I can't see the details in those pictures, and I'm curious what work you had done - sounds like there is a story to it?

Actually Duke Dirk Lancaster of Caid made most of the helm, and Jackie at Shamrock Armory did the ridge and side plates on the top to give it the ridge and spangen look.

When i commisioned it from Duke Dirk, we went with a sport version, and I just really couldnt get into it. Will post a pic of it before the Ridge work.

As far as the bronze work. The nasal has my 3 knights devices on it, a section showing me getting knighted, some different animals of representing my squire brothers and sisters, and also the shield of chivalry of AEthelmearc, that I have been fortunate to carry.

The side plates, are nothing really personal, just two armies charging at each other on one side and on the other, my side winning.

The back plate is of me winning a tourney a very long time ago, called The Great Mabignogen Dragon, in Atlantia. Basically you had to beat the dragon in a specified time frame. The head was 3 people, the tail was three people, the wings were two people each and in the middle, were two archers with 360 degree firing arc. You had to kill the whole dragon, but if you killed one person, next time you came around that person would still be dead. So it was attrition. I beat my knight, Syr Black Kane O'Shannon by 30 seconds. :)

So the back plate is of me slaying a dragon.

Yeah whoever bought this, would need to do a little work to work on the bronze for themselves, but at least its all there. :)

Not expecting to get anywhere near what I paid for it. Probably would look for around $500, I paid more than double that due to the bronze work.
