LF Review: WildeArmory / Maxim Susporich

Post by Sean Powell »

(after accedentally posting in the combat section...)

Hello,

I am much impressed with the work of WildeArmory who posts as Maxim Susporich here on the archive. I am considering approaching him about a helm similar to this for Cot30.

I've had good dealings with Bethan before so I am aware of the shipping times from the Ukraine. I am most concerned with communication and if there have been issues with his SCA gear passing SCA inspections (like bar-grills <= 1")

Any/all information is appreciated.

Thanks, Sean

Can't speak for SCA approval on his armor, but communication with him was pretty good when I bought a gambeson from him last year.

I have lots of Maxim's stuff.

An early bacinet, arms, shoulders, gauntlets, legs and soon new legs, cased greaves and a set of sabatons. Once I get those, I'm getting another, more modern bacient and a Churburg segemented breastplate from him.

All the stuff I have so far is EXCELLENT. I fought in his gear for the first time this weekend and it functioned perfectly. No binding, no rubbing, just smooth articulations. The only issue I've run into is the padded aventail in my current bacinet is coming apart at the seams. No big deal at all, and quite an easy fix.

Maxim has ALWAYS been very responsive to my emails and is more than willing to do what is needed to make me happy.

It takes about 10-14 days for stuff to get to the US from the Ukraine. No big deal for me.

Honestly, you really cannot go wrong with him and I'm very happy to recommend him.

Make sure to tell him EXACTLY what you want, because thats EXACTLY what you get. Make sure you tell him all the extras you want with your gear, or all the stuff you don't want.

I had a picture of me snapped this weekend (using a set of horrible plastic bear claws), that I'll see if I can get.
