I have a crossbow I seldom shoot. The stock is two pieces of purple heart with a piece of blond wood sandwiched in between. I have no idea who made this bow, as I received it in trade for a horse bow from a friend who was having trouble spanning it. The prod is steel and both the foot loop and the trigger are hammered steel. The nut is nylon or delrin not sure which. There used to be ivory plates from an old piano key on the butt end of the stock. One has gone missing, the end could benefit from someone knowledgeable polishing it up to match the rest of the bow. The string was apparently made in a hurry and the seizing was poorly done, it is now coming undone. I have shot this bow less than a hundred times.
I have no idea what the draw weight is, I can span it relatively easily, but my friend had trouble with his shoulder and couldnt. At 25-30 paces it drills the bolts a solid hand span, maybe 5-6" into my synthetic bale target. Bolts that miss the target and hit rocks... explode.
With it comes the few remaining intact bolts and a bundle of 12 ash (I think) dowels for making up as bolts.

I would like to get at least $200 for it - as that was the cost of the bow I originally traded for it, and what Russ is charging for my new to me bow.

the other wood looks like hickory... i think. if any of your friends are interested in archery the might have bow scales that you can work out the poundage with. Saying that its a really nice crossbow.

My guess from the description of how hard it shoots that you wouldn't want to use it for CA.

This is a target bow.
I suppose if you wanted to you could switch out the prod for a lighter stave and use it for combat archery. As is, no this would likely drive the fiberglass shaft through the safety head of the bolt.

Yes as I mentioned above the seizing is coming undone, the core of the string appears to be fine. I will see if I can shoot a better picture here shortly.
