Armour and castings question

Post by Donngal »

Some friends and I are getting ready to place a rather large order for some cast items from Armour and castings. I was wondering if anyone has ordered there buckles and belt mounts and what they thought.

There communication with me has been excellent Im just curious as to the quality. I dont want to get a buckle and have it break or be a crappy pitted cast.

I have seven of thier buckles on my front-closing lamellar. I have only had to slightly straighten one tongue. I found them of good quality and quite durable.
Here is a closup of them on my armor; http://www.flickr.com/photos/pag1010/34 ... 396337155/
I had a very good experience with them, as well.

I picked up 12 15th century buckles from them and about 50 belt fittings, all in bronze. The buckles are fantastic and the only thing I had difficulty with on the fittings was that I had to anneal the "tang" as they were pretty butch.

Other than that, I was exceeding pleased with my transaction.

No complaints from me, other than it took a while to get the order, but everything was very nice, and priced very well.

I have a fair number of their castings - beltmounts, buckles, and tips. I have been exceedingly pleased with both the castings and the company. Fair warning, it takes a few weeks to get stuff, but then it is coming from the Ukraine.

Donngal,

One thing that has come up with A&C recently has been issues with the service that takes their online orders. The order is accepted and notification is sent via email. A 2nd email may arrive notifying you that your payment has go through and the order is being processed.

After a few weeks another email shows up saying your card did not go through and would you please pay again or your order will be canceled or there was some fraud issue and could you please pay again.

This has happened to me and one other person here on the AA.

Velund was quick to assure me my order was on its way and my payment was received and secure. My order was received eventually and I was pleased with the items.

I would not have mentioned this at all except it to me and a good friend.

Just something to keep an eye out for.
