Horn cups/beakers Dutch AUCTION ENDED

Post by Mike Garrett (Orc) »

Only two items in this Dutch Auction. This will run until Sunday night - (Monday morning over here - because of the time difference) or I may finish it earlier if your collective enthusiasm gets out of hand
Two horn cups/beakers, approx 4 inches high, holding approx 200ml.
How it works -
You are bidding on ONE cup.
When I end the auction, the two highest bidders will win one of the cups each. They will pay the price that was the lowest of the two winning bids
i.e Danceswithfrogs and Duke Ayre are the two highest bidders.
Danceswithfrogs' bid was $12, Duke Ayre's bid was $15. Therefore they both pay $12 for their cup.

Given that the two cups are not identical I will try and give each person the one they want, but if they both want the same one then the person that made the highest bid will get the choice (though they still pay the lower price).
As there are two items then there can be two opening bids of $7, third and fourth bids would the be $8 (or more) and so on, if you get what I mean.
$1 or greater increments please Ladies and Gentlemen.
Who will start me at $7 (plus shipping)?

IMPORTANT

I'm currently in the process of checking with the appropriate authorities about sending horn products to the US, as I have been told that this might be a problem.
SO I am putting this auction on hold until I get a reply.
Please do not bid until I resume it.
Thank you.

I e-mailed APHIS at the USDA on Friday and was kind of hoping to have a reply by now.

Anyone possibly able to contact them over there?

I basically asked if I was okay to send drinking horns (made from sterilized cow horn) to friends in the USA. From the UK, obviously.
Thanks for your patience.

highest bid is 9, but myself and the person who bid 8 will each get a cup for 8. If you were to bid 9, then you and myself would be the highest bidders, each getting a cup for 9.

So what would happen now ist that flyingobbo and Gaston would get them at $9 (if I finished now) as Gaston was the first to bid $9 and gobbo has the highest bid.
