James River Armoury Update

Post by ARMOURER ERIC »

Hi,

Even though the new shop is nowhere close to set up, I will be resuming work about 3PM this afternoon, clients just can't wait, and they have been waiting so I'm not complaining.

Essentially, I did know and had planned for a move starting next Monday and expected to have many more orders completed at that point and was set up for a good break off spot. But when the new owners found that my boss' escrow closing was moved up from the 20th to the 10th, they gave me 3 days to get out. I did not quite make it and they got more pissy everyday. The old owner give all the tenants an eviction notice to be out by the 5th, I had been there for 7 years, asked for an extention to the 25th and though it was granted, they refused to put it in writing.

What I got here is pretty awesome, my boss at the chicken ranch has taken advantage of the crappy San Diego real estate market and bought a property for his chicken ranch. We have 12 acres and a lot of useful stuctures and a big house and it is immediately off I-8 65 miles east of SD. The part that applies to me is that I have gone from a 600 sq ft shop in Julian with a low ceiling to a 1000 sq. FT. shop with 12 foot ceiling, a dedicated separate room for the grinding equipment and another separate room for leather working and for myself, a 600 sq ft trailer, built in 2003 with all the modern stuff inside.

I'm right near where the mountains east of SD drop off rapidly to the Salton Basin, and the sunrises are awesome.

I'll be making my schedule through the 29th later today and expect to clear most of my mild and stainless que's in that time Along with about 1/5 of my custom que.

Sounds like some bad news, with some very decent news.

Good luck Eric.

Eric do you have anything in your 200.00-350.00 range already made.
I need a helm for a newbie 21.5 head.
Just thought Id check with you, I know you do good work.
PS my Baron says the helm you made for me is way high quality for what I paid. Ive been fighting in it for a year now. I couldnt agree with him more.
Thanks

Chrodec
