Roman Hamata For Sale - BACK ON SALE/PRICE DROP

Post by RomeBuff »

Greetings Folks!

I am listing a suit of New Unused -- Rivited Roman Hamata for sale!

The suit was purchased from Find it Armory, a little over a year ago.

Never worn except to try it on.

It is gorgeous and it kills me to have to sell it.

All I want is what I paid for it plus shipping. $425 + ($20shp)+ $445 total

Short story:

It fits, but I need to wear a light jumpsuit under it and there is no room for that.

I am a cough...cough...beefy girl and the money will go to get me a replacement suit from his Grace Duke Icefalcon, as he has roomier sizes.

Spec and pic from their site:

Construction: 17 gauge (8mm ID) alternating rows of flat punched rings and round rivet rings with attached doublet. Includes leather lining along edges and brass buttoms/clasp.
Size: Fits up to 50" chest (30" long)
Availability: In stock
Credits: Designed with help from Legio VI F.F.C.

Item: CMAD8
Image

and from me to show I have it in hand:
Image

I accept Paypal or if someone wants to buy a hamata for me from His Grace as a straight up trade. Same difference.

Feel free to cross post to appropriate re-enactment sites as well!

Thanks

Livia

I've seen this first hand and it's very, very nice. Shame it does not fit.

There is a fitgher out here who is returning to the game after 6 years in the Marines. I'll see if I can catch him before he goes on leave and see if this will fit the bill. If I was going roman, I 'd take it.

If I may offer some advice...

You are selling this at the same price as the original company. This poses several problems

1. You say it's never been worn, but that might not be true. You are only providing pictures from the website and not the item you're selling, which adds to this concern.

2. You had it for a year. Whether you wore it or not, it's used.

3. There is a chance that you default on the sale.

Why bother buying this from you when and bear these risks when for the same price you can just go to the company directly? You need to provide some impetus.

Wow Dude!

READ my post.

I DO have a picture of the ACTUAL ITEM in my possesion. I clearly state that in the body of the post. That is why I added it originally.

I state it has never been worn "except to try it on" because it hasn't. Splitting hairs. I don't lie, do you?

I feel I included a reasonable explanation as to it's condition..whether any prospective buyer has issue with that that is for them to decide.

I bumped the thread because there is a "potential" third party buyer. He is not, to my knowledge, n archiver, so I thought It would make it easier for him to find. (why do I have to explain this...)

The price is explained in the body of the post.

Yes, the potential buyer could get the same item from the armourer or he can get it from me.

They can CHOOSE to help me and purchase it so that I can get a larger one(as stated in my post) The last time I checked this is a community of like minded individuals who share information and help each other when they can. Not Flea bay.

If he purchases it from me the he gets it shipped for free because it is
a little something I can do for someone who served this country.

I might default. REALLY? I can get hit by space junk too.

If I had no care in the world for my reputation, yeah
it might be an option,

It isn't.

There are plenty of NAME SELLERS here that have established a pattern of this and MANY MORE RESPECTED SELLERS who do the right thing ALL the time!!

Again, look at the photo I included and that I clearly state is in my possession.

I have successfully completed many transactions here as a buyer and a seller with no issue.

Yes, I am ticked.

Time and time again people offer suggestions under the guise of help without fully READING what is written.

I have no problem with advice being given.

I have been saved by it time after time.

All that I ask is READ what is written before you post UNSOLICITED advice. If you feel the need to pass on unsolicited advice then be classy and do it in a PM.

I read your post, the second image didn't show up for some reason. Probably something I my end, I apologize from that. You shouldn't have taken it personally, I described the risks inherent of all transactions of the sort. You should consider the fact that people expect to pay lower prices for used items is what I meant.

You don't have to take the advice and you can express your discontent over me offering it in the first place, but then you chose to resort to personal attacks?

I don't lie, do you?

And then you finish it off with a racial slur, how classy...

Yes, my portuguese is up.

You do realize those are contradictory statements right? In any case, I don't care. I'm not going to bother arguing with you, particularly when you've been far more insulting than necessary and there really shouldn't be anything to argue over here.
If you can find someone willing to abide by your conditions, good job.

Um, you have no idea who RomeBuff IS.

So why assume she is selling second hand, used merchandise? This item I HAVE SEEN IN PERSON and it is not used. The item is in perfect condition. It has never been worn, as it did not fit.

I know Livia very, very well. She is like a second mother to me. I would stake my life on her word without hesitation.

That "racial slur" you speak of is Livia calling herself Portuguese. It is HER heritage. They are known for a kind heart but fiery temper.

Roman Buff,
You are correct, the third party is not as of yet an archive member. Sadly, As I post this, it seems neither of us have heard from him other then the reply I got back earlier in the week, so if there is another interested party who would like to purchase this, then do so. I wouldn't want you to hold up anyone else.

Back from a busy holiday week build-up.

Docniel: There is no other interest at this point. No worries.

Charles Alexander- I will try to take a better pic...the first one was kinda poopy.

Euric - thanks sweetie. Made me blush.

Kaio -
[/quote]You don't have to take the advice and you can express your discontent over me offering it in the first place, but then you chose to resort to personal attacks?

Just to clarify:
Quote:

I don't lie, do you?

A personal attack would have been written as "you are a liar".

I did not call you a liar. I asked a question.

Far less insulting than accusing me of being someone who would default on a sale (granted it was based upon your flawed premise in the first place.)

Racial slur...nope! If I was being racist I wouldve said my "human was up". Potuguese is a nationality, not a race.

Proud of my heritage, I was punctuating my statement. I have an inherent unwillingness to allow a slight to go by unanswered. Throwing around the race card does nothing for your argument.

I am also done with this argument.

I will be reposting this item so that the person who may or may not be interested in this item might have the opportunity to see it without the ensuing silliness.

Happy Holidays!

Livia
