Depending on what your working with I like bossing hammers.
harbour freight has the cheapest price but if you have a lathe or know someone who does turning them out goes very quick and you can custom match the radius of the face to your dishing from.
For cheap plastic blanks try Ebay usualy its ugly colors like hot pink but the price is right.
If your working on heavie guage metal weight is important pickup a basa or garland hammer with the removable face and install the apropriate radius turned from wood or plastic.

If you have 2lb sledge and a belt grinder it would only take a few hours to make one. I just did, and the same patience and attention to detail come in handy as you dish. 8)

dishing hammer

you can buy the hammer and a grinder, and some flap discs and make one
from scratch for about $40 and an evenings work.

Go to harbor freight to get it all that cheap.

if you don't have one I strongly suggest a vice to hold it while you grind though.
