I would go with an XL. You can always exchange it if you need to go larger.

Your Grace,

If you would, what are the waist, chest, and arm length measurements for small, medium, and large?

Thank you kindly!

Keegan

Really, really happy with the cote - one question, though; how much does it weigh? I don't have a bathroom scale and need the pound weight to calculate the amount of dye I'll need to use. Thanks!

Well got a chance to try it out this evening. it fits perfectly except the sleeves are long but that is an easy fix. It's also not a surprise considering I'm short (5'6") and I needed the XL. I swung my sword around for a bit. It moves wonderfully, not binding up. I through on my armor for the first time in over a year. Had the fiancee swing some rattan at me to test how it took hits. Worked wonderfully and definitely showed where I needed to change things.

Cost: 5 stars. At half the price most other off the rack gambersons sell for The quality is wonderful even if it lacks some features many other have such as grand assiette sleeves or Arming Points.

Quality:4 stars. I cannot wait to try this thing out in an actual bout. The buttons were a little hard to close. I don't know if this is how it is supposed to be though or if it will get a little easier with use.

Communication:5 Stars. When it turned out I had left the size off my order I got a prompt phone call to confirm what size I wanted.
Timeliness: 5 Stars. The phonecall took place on Monday. The package shipped Tuesday and arrived today (Friday)

All in all a great experience and I will definitely order from him again.

The cuffs are long but work very well if you are wearing vambraces. Put your cote on then put your vambraces on. Roll the cuff over the vambraces and you will have a nice padded cuff to take the rub out of the vambrace.

I am glad you are enjoying this product. We will be bringing more new items and continue with the popular items this year.

Yep, in fact, you see in period art men with sleeves that hang to their knuckle reasonably often. My guess has always been this very use. flip the cuff back over the vambrace then put your gauntlet on. The gauntlet holds the cuff in place, the cuff keeps the vambrace from rubbing.

These are a great deal - thanks much. I bought two -after I received my first one in M to go under my plate I decided to get a second in XL to go over my armour as an experiment. this morning the better half took about an hour to modify the XL to remove the collar and also take it back to elbow length on the sleeves and it fits nicely as an over everything short sleeved arming cote. here it is over my coat of plates, gorget and espaliers. fits just fine, works even better over my bp and tassets as my coat of plates is a little bulky. i think i will remove the collar on the size M one as well but that is just a style/personal preference. Highly recommended

I like my medium in the waist but a bit small in the shoulders.

If I bought a large black how much would it cost to get it here by friday?

Two questions:

Has anybody washed theirs yet? I'm curious about how the sizing may change after being washed.

I'd have buy a white one in my size and dye it black, does anyone have a good technique to do so?

Ritt dye should work.

I intentionally shrunk my large white gambeson as it was a bit too large for me. Washing it in warm and drying extra long did the trick. still needs a bit of alteration, in the waist, but otherwise worked out well.

It's cotton, so if you really don't want it to shrink, either wash it in cold water and hang dry, or take it to the dry cleaners (they will also probably just wash it and slow dry it since it is cotton).

YMMV
