It's a kind of burnout. Almost a grieving process. Take a little time and do something you enjoy. Preferably with your lady.

EVERY SINGLE scabbard order is now in process. Everything is cut out and dyed...I will now sew my ass off for two weeks.

Not to add to Vitus' workload - but for SCA jousters that are looking to move up to balsa jousting, Vitus makes a kickass ecranche that takes a severe beating with only very minor scuffing.

You can't go wrong using his jousting targes.

People don't get it- my jousting shields are the best in the world.

I beat the beejeebus out of mine for 2 seasons (actually, Cassandra beat the beejeebus out of it, I just wore it  ) and didn't even have to repaint it (and that was using copper caps on the lances).

People will not listen. It's funny how so many people get bummed about a completely disguised coat of epoxy while they will have all types of modern details or modern materials in use for their other gear- and I'm talking about NON SCAdians, here.

You can't get anything more well-disguised than one of my tilting shields.

I've hit a temporary financial snag.

People who owe me money need to pay me asap so I can keep things rolling. I'm out of leather.

They are the best around. I have three, and the one I use personally has taken a load of full-contact hits and isn't even marred. Got a lot of paint streaks from opponents lances....but no gouging, no chipping, no cracking.

BEST.
SHIELDS.
EVAH.

Here is mine, and it taking some abuse-

Vitus,

I believe that is the best looking scabbard you have done yet. It conveys the "realistic" look the best so far.

I like understated "bling"

The scabbard that you see in the pic above turned a nauseating yellow overnight. This has never happened before. I took it apart, stripped it, re-dyed it and after it dried it began to turn yellow again. In five hours it was the most repulsive thing I have ever seen.

I must have bought a bad batch of dye.

Just bought some new very, very thick leather to make the knee and elbow cop orders from. I'll have to soak the pieces for 48 hrs, but they should be bulletproof.

Epoxy won't dry. Too much humidity from the snow?

This thick leather I bought is too thick for elbows and knees- I can't shape it and it's been soaking for HOURS. It's bulletproof. Maybe I can make some breastplates or something....

So out of curiosity...how thick is the leather that's 'too thick'?

64 ounce? :)
