No its a national thing(Federal Firearm License), especially across state lines.

Maybe in Mass, but it's not a federal law. An FFL can accept transfer from a private party so long as the state allows it.

Solid deal on a nice rifle by the way. I'd be interested, but I've already got one

Firearms can be sent directly from the owner to an FFL. Doesn't have to be FFL-FFL.
Great deal. Someone buy it please! Temptation... increasing...must...resist...

Long guns must be sent to an FFL, and it must be declared as a firearm. I always ship with the USPS, who usually ask for a copy of the FFL and my driver's license.
Handguns MUST be sent FFL to FFL, period.
Blackpowder, just need verification (copy of drivers license works) that they are over 18.

Randy...Keep it open if someone gets it before I do that's how it is. If not then We'll be talking turkey. Bottom line, you have a product and need money now. I want product but do not have money now. If the two meet it's all good. If they don't again it's good..

To give it a bump and to say that I have shipped handgun (private seller) to FFL out of state several times. As early has two weeks ago. You use UPS and they have to go overnight. They require a copy of the FFL to where the gun is being shipped and a copy of your DL. I have shipped from Florida to three different states this way. No problom at all.

Odd.
I sent a FAL receiver through the mail about 2 years ago, and the postal employee refused to believe that it wasnt a handgun, making me open the package IN the post office to prove it (was ofc sending it to an FFL, declared it as a firearm, but he either didnt have any idea what a receiver was, or was just being a prick) He told me, in no uncertain terms, that it was required that handguns be sent FFL to FFL, period.
You are correct in that it must be shipped overnight, by registered air mail. I had to send pistols to be repaired once (Uberti, go figure) and the gun shop i am a frequent customer of, who receive guns for me on a regular basis, told me the same thing, FFL to FFL for handguns, no exceptions, they sent them for me (they have never mentioned that to me regarding long guns).
Can state laws on this vary?

Oh yes indeed. And quite often the post office/UPS employees don't know as much as they think they do. I've had it out with more than one postmaster over the years...

Has this been sold yet? If not, I'm potentially very interested.

I've shipped several times, I always bring a copy of the postal regs with me.
Also the gun is always in a sealed box, some postal workers may want to see the gun (although nothing in the regs says they need to.) but believe me you do not want to bring an unboxed gun into the post office.

Randy...
If you have a buyer Right now.. Take the offer.. I'll live. The cash I expected to have on Monday is being held up on me due to Red tape on the customer's end (dealing with a bank)..
IF that fall through, I still have interest but as I said in PM's you have a buyer now, sell and get yer cash. Don't hover waiting on me..
