Springfield SOCOM II

Not Armour, but I've seen people selling firearms so I figured I could interest my fellow "bang stick" brethren in this fine piece of equipment.

This is an earlier SOCOMII that I acquired new and put about 400 rds though. It has all the rail gloriousness, but I find myself wanting to shoot greater distances then the 16" barrel is really suited for. So I bought a National Match and I've been having allot of fun, while this languishes in my safe.

Priced to move fast at 1600, includes 2 20 round magazines.

Sorry, if you don't know what a SOCOM looks like, there's plenty of gun porn out there.

If you're serious about it, I will send pics, but I don't post pics of my guns on the web. Sad, but not my most favorite thing to do.

Perhaps you should try and sell it on a forum that doesn't expect/demand pictures in their classified section. 8)

Hi Aaron,

Don't let my remark put you off on buying this as I don't know the owner, just posted a standard pic of the weapon and asked a key question as many times posters here on a thread don't have the juice to buy what's listed... just post for the sake of posting... you know what I mean.

Like in this case, me.

Cheers,

DT

PS Missed you at WMAW this time.

Obviously your choice. A new one is 2K +.

As mentioned, I will send pics via email, but I am not posting them here.

Exactly, most people asking for pics never have any intent to buy. Why bother?

Fantastic rifle. I'd be interested if it wasn't the SOCOM. Need that longer barrel myself.

Heh, I have a Scout Squad, too.

Time to thin the herd a bit. I have one of every Springfield M14 variant made.

Love the M-14/M1A. Fantastic rifles that can be pure nail drivers even 1000 yards out.

.308 chambered I'm assuming?

Yes, I thought they all were? (M14's, that is?)

You can get them in .308, and .30-30 as well but you really have to look for the other calibers. Most of them are custom jobs.

30.06 would be an M1, if I remember correctly.

Never saw a .30-30. Learned something new today.

But yes, this is a standard config SOCOM II.

They're very nice. I like the forged receivers that come with those. Replace everything else with USGI and you have one heck of a shooter that will take any hot load you can throw at it. I had one a few years ago, set like that. Wish I had never sold it.

I will be doing my taxes in the next few weeks, however any curiosity or enthusiasm has now left.

eta the request was for general pictures of the make& model you were speaking of, not necessarily your specific rifle.

Again, your choice. However, I have to call BS: If I were enthusiastic and wanted this, I would simply ask for pictures via email. As I have now indicated twice that I would send, with a simple request not to post my guns on the internet until they become yours.

So, take your loss of enthusiasm elsewhere, please. Apparently, my post has nothing to do with you, so per the rules JT posted and we all agreed to, Don't bump threads that don't have anything to do with you.

I guess I am old now, been here since 2001 and never received so much grief about a picture.

Make is mentioned: Springfield
Model is mentioned: SOCOM II

Someone else posted a pic of one. You'll find that there is only one type of SOCOMII or it would be a SOCOM, or a SOCOM 16 or a Scout Squad.

So, with that said, Google is your friend for pics of items you won't buy.

Would you? What I would do is first ascertain what kind of person this seller is, since he's asking me to trust him to send me my goods, after already having received the payment. In your case, I would never send the money.

I think you don't understand the difference between bumping a thread and posting a reply. Google is your friend for things you don't understand.

Amazing that you went through all that work of cutting and pasting, to not add anything to this discussion.

So, you think that because I won't post a picture of my rifle, that I am untrustworthy?

I am astounded.

In a nut shell, fawk off.

So, are there alot of people that load up this gun with components that fit on the rails? It just looks "off" to me somehow.

Yeah, namely the SEALs.

Hell both the Army and the Marines have made the decision to get M14s again. The wait on a replacement for the M-16 is taking far too long and the 7.62 M80 round is a far superior round than the 5.56 M193.

This weapon is NO joke.

I do see your point, however, show me where I said I wouldn't send pictures of the actual rifle?

BTW, it would be more like I have an IceFalcon standard bascinet with all normal features. Send email for pics.

I just don't want them on the web. It's also a good means to weed out tire kickers on an item like this.

It's already sold.

It sold within 20 minutes of my post. I wasn't kidding when I said it was priced to sell.

I don't have cash in hand so I keep posts going until I do.

So, you've sold it but not even mentioned that here, until now, when prompted?

As I said, no deal's truly done until cash is in my hand. Especially here.

The buyer is watching this thread. He asked me to keep it going, as it seems hilarious to him as well.

Edited to add:

Oh, I doubt that. probably the first time anyone has actually told you they were doing it, is all.
