FS: Stainless Icefalcon Bascinet with BUYOUT Option
Posted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 7:56 pm
by Dietrich von Stroheim
Feast your eyes upon this gorgeous Icefalcon bascinet, crafted of sturdy
14 ga Stainless and sized to fit a head in the 22-24 inch range!
Previous owner was a lovely warrior maid from Meridies who only wore it
to the Cathedral on Sundays, so it is still in fantastic shape, with no dents
or defects of any type!
This awesome helm combines great-looking appearance,
top-notch protection AND high visibility and performance all in one,
and it's easy to see why these are sold new on Ice Falcon's website for
$650
...but it can be yours today for a ridonkulously-low Bid or Buyout price (see the bottom)
Not only can you make this badboy yours for half the retail price or less, but you will be able to take your helm out of the box, put it on your head,
fasten the chin strap, and go beat on someone with a stick right away!
That's right, it is already strapped, padded and ready to go.
If you have been wanting to get a great helm for a ridiculously-low price, in time for Pennsic, then look no further! If this is not the bascinet you have been looking for, then you must not want a bascinet at all...
...but even if you don't want a bascinet, I'll still be happy to sell this one to you!
Bids start at a LAUGHABLY-LOW $50, and the auction will remain open until Wednesday, July 7th or until someone exercises the Buyout Option!
BUYOUT OPTION: Skip the entire bidding process, and make these yours for the "Invest in Dietrich's Retirement" price of a mere $325!!

OK, so, who will start the bidding off at $50? Or head on over to the link above and make 'em yours right now?[/i]

Might we see some pictures under other lighting? I think I might very much want this helm but cannot be sure until I can see the lower portions of the helm better.

Sure thing. When I get home this afternoon I'll put up a few more pics.

Is the padding bare foam or does it have a cloth padding for in between the foam and your head?

The padding is of foam--one layer of a foam that looks like cloth, thus prompting your inquiry, I imagine--and some blue foam on top of that to make the helm comfortably fit the 22-inch grape of its previous owner.
Needless to say, someone with a larger head can simply remove the blue padding and wear the bascinet quite comfortably.
More pics will be forthcoming later tonight (heading out now to take my son to his first Tae Kwon Do lesson!)

Pics, pics! The People have demanded more pics!
As you can see, the bargrill extends low enough to provide ample neck protection, so that sound-barrier-breaking spear thrust is much more likely to catch your grill than squeeze your gorget against your throat.

My apologies, been working on our local event and forgot to look back. It is a very nice helm, however I am looking for an onion top. I thought maybe from the first pic but your later pics reveal it's a back point and just not quite what I am looking for. I thank you for your efforts in getting the other pictures tho.

Not a problem at all, you are very welcome and I hope you find that onion top you are searching for.
If I might offer a recommendation, Ice Falcon has a great-looking onion top helm on his site:
