Greetings

I have a quantity of HIGH QUALITY shield boss' up for sale. They are designed for use in SCA Heavy Combat. Each boss is comprised of 14 gauge plate steel (2mm), are 9" in outside diameter, approx. 7" diameter interior opening, have a 1" lip and are approximately 3 1/2" in depth. Each boss comes predrilled with six 1/4" holes so that it may be easily attached to your favorite shield.

Pricing is $40 each plus $15 shipping within Continental United States, buyers outside the Cont. US to pay actual shipping costs. Will combine shipping on multiple boss'.

Ok, it showed up in the mail yesterday. My god this thing was not going to get damaged in the mail. Box was about 12"x 12". 2 layers of bubble wrap around the boss. All the remaining space was filled with packing peanuts. My 4 year old grandniece is having fun with that. Her grandmother is slightly miffed at me.

Communication. 5 Email confirmation the next morning after ordering.

Shipping. 5 Shipped on Monday received on Thursday.

Product. 5 Plain steel but the doesn't bother me. These are spun judging by the marks on the inside but the outside was sanded and polished. Not mirror finish but very nice.

Dimensions. 9.25 outside of the rim. 7 inside. Depth 3.5" My hand is 4" across so this one should have plenty of room.

Price. 5 $55 shipped. About on par with other armouries. Only one I could find who currently has them in stock though.

Overall I would say a 5 on the Freiman scale. Nice clean product at a good price. Excellant communication with quick shipping. They go on my buy from list that I give to others. Thanks.

The boss' that we are showing here all have been pre-drilled.

I can however make you a hand hammered boss that is not pre drilled if you would like. It would be shallower than the ones shown here but otherwise would be of the same dimensions (9" overall diameter, 1" lip, 7" interior opening).

Gonna be ordering mine in the next few days, was gonna get the ole plastic one. By the time I order the plastic one with the handle and shipping it would have been 50. This one will look waaaaay better on the new shield I am building, I can make a handle easy, glad you bumped this I never would have seen it otherwise.

Y'all should jump on this. I have 2 bucklers that Grimr did for me years ago, and I use the 18 inch one all the time. Aside from the tape smears on it you could not tell that it was brand spanking new after several years of usage. Grimr's stuff is da bomb! And made here in the heartland, Calontir!
