Communication - Communcation was pretty good. We started out with emails in Feb. and proceeded to use facebook chat after the first couple emails. He was quick to answer questions and suggestions. Also with the facebook chat, it helped out just to get to know him as a person. He was available to just chat away about anything. His grasp of the English language was pretty well considering he is from Ukraine.
Quality - Now this is a difficult part to do because of the lack of experiece with handling 15th century plate armour. I would give him a 9 out of 10 for the quality and I know this is his first attempt at a cuirass this defined. He did really well on capturing little details from the orginal photos and also considering he only had measurements to work with on the shape. This is one of those items best done with the armourer to personally measure you to get a perfect fit but that wasn't possible for me. It fits fairly well considering that.
Shipping - Shipping was surprisingly fast. He told me he shipped it on Aug 23 and it arrived at my post office on Sept 2. It looks like I got lucky, there is a sticker on the box that said the pacel left JFK airport on Sept 1. So it seems once it was off the container ship, they put it right on the plane to get across the US.
All in all, I would buy again from Alex at Jolly Knight. He did a pretty good job with this project.
Now for the pictures!
