Not a clue, but I'd be willing to bet that Reconstructing History has a pattern for it.

I'll take that bet, considering they don't have anything at all for the classical and antique periods! A subarmalis is a layered garment worn beneath Roman squamata, hamata and segmentata during the Imperial era. Anyway, I am unaware of any individual or company that produces a subarmalis. I'd suggest posting on the Roman Army Talk Marketplace if you really wish to find someone who makes them and knows what's up. Also, you could peruse sites like Matthew Amt's Legio XX page on the subarmalis if you're thinking of making one yourself. Good details regarding possible construction methods. Good luck in your quest!

Try http://legvi.tripod.com/armamentarium/id109.html

Ive never bought from them but the "Brutally Authentic" line looks pretty good. I was thinking of getting some roman glassware from them.

I have one I could sell you. Linen with wool padding, shoulders doubled. It's sat on my shelf for a couple years. What size do you need? PM me details if you're interested.
