Up coming stock

We will be offering round top Norman helms as a stock item. Here are a few pictures to show the style of helm that we will be offering.
We will offer stainless 14 gauge tops and face plates with a leather camail for $550.00 plus the shipping. We will also offer them in mild steel 12 gauge top with a 14 gauge face plate with a leather camail for $450.00 plus the shipping.

We will also offer the helms without the leather camails for $50.00 less.

All opinions are welcome

Cheers

Gahhh...I love this style of helm so very, very much...but I can't start a whole new century! Not yet...I'm too far in with the Mafia; they'll kill me if I back out now.

Fantastic work, sir; I've seen a lot of attempts at these helms, but you've got the shape the way I love it: refined, purposeful, and crisp.

Been thinking about a Crusader rig, something my persona's "great, great, etc." grandpa would have worn. Thinking a LOT harder now.

Exactly the helm I had in mind...

I probably bought the helmet figured in picture 101_0600.JPG (The second picture.)

Visibility offered is quite good. Not as good as an open-faced helmet, but not far from it either. I found that I could easily make the transition from 10+ years of open-faced to this one with minimal adjustment.

Breathing works pretty well. The air will mainly escape out through the eye slots, but that is nothing that hinders in any way unless you are breathing like a crazed celt on speed, at which point you should take a break anyway.

Construction is easy and well made. There may be a slight safety issue with the lower side area between the front and back plate gap depending on local rules, but with the leather camail attached I felt safe in it, and I am usually a pretty critical marshal. I had three marshals look at it, and they all felt it to be fully acceptable.

"Paddability" It took me only around 30 minutes to pad the helmet up to a very snug and secure fit. Together with a chinstrap this helmet can take some solid thrusts and you will be fine. There is a slight risk that the helmet tilts forward if not secured properly, and your nose will make contact with the bridge, but that depends on how close your face is to the eye slots. It is a small risk, and will ONLY affect you if you pad or attach the chin strap in a bad manner.

Impact "feel" I have had two shots (2) in two full practices that have felt a bit weird to me. I talked with the person fighting me and we came to a satisfactory conclusion on both shots. It came down to a classic case of learning how ones helmet feels and acts. No "blind spots" so far. Does it "ring" with most shots? No. Does it ring occasionally? No. The only spot I have found where there is any "ring" to it is if I am hit with a glancing shot over the front/side-plate. However, my helmet is also padded to give room for my ears, so any shots there will have more ring to them naturally.

Style This is serious bling for your buck. 450 pistols for this helmet is a steal. Your friends WILL hate you for having such a cool helmet.

Overall I am happier than a little kid who finds his dad's porn magazine stash early on a Christmas morning. I love the look, I like the prize, I like the visibility, I like...everything. I dont recommend anyone to get one, because I want to be alone in looking this stylish in my new good safe helm. 8)

Your Grace

We are starting a new gallery of work that we have done with the person in there kits. I would love a picture of you in your kit with the helm if you don't mind to put up on the website.

Thanks

As a proud owner of a Shamrock helm, I would just like to say that you can not go wrong with a Shamrock product.

Had some people ask me about my helm at AEth Crown today, so I referred them to the archive and am bumping this thread.

I don't have this helm, but I do have another shamrock helm. Absolutely love it, rock solid and amazing work for the price he charges. I recommend him to anyone looking for armour whole heartedly

Wow thanks everyone for sending people my way. I really try to do what I can to make nice work for a good price.
It has been a bit nuts on make times here lately with my wife back in school and me having to watch one of my girls and there is my armor apprentice. He has had two aunts killed in the last few months that has put him in a bit of blaaa, but things are smoothing out now and we are back on track for now
