I am on the verge of making some seriously bad-ass, mindblowing sword handles, but I need sword hardware and rattan to do magic on.
If you order a sword or dagger scabbard I will make the dagger or sword for FREE. Just get the sword hardware and rattan to me. This is a $50-75 value.
Get the sword hardware from Windrose and the rattan from Munition Grade Arms

MUST MAKE RATTAN WEAPONS.

Sir Vitus makes sheaths. Really good ones. Really, really, really, good ones I'd give a nut to own, but don't have the cash for just now.
If you buy a sheath from him, and send him rattan and hardware, he is stating he will also make a kick ass sword for you to put in the new sheath for free. which is awesome, because his woodwork is as cool as his leatherwork.

If this offer is still available next Friday I'll take you up on it. Unfortunately, this paycheck has already been alotted to bills. Plus I'll likely see Master Eirik this Tuesday and get the rattan from the source.

Vitus, are you going to get fancy with the blade too if the customer comes up with some thicker rattan?

I don't have the spare cash right now, but I am curious to see a mindblowing sword handle. If somebody buys a waster from Munitions Grade Arms (either type 15 off the site or one of the new economy, type 10, or type 12 styles) instead of a plain rattan stick, I'll hand-deliver it to Vitus.

Really really want...
and with the Aussie$ on parrity with the US$ now could be a good time?!?
Possible to do 14thC style suitable for hanging vertically from a plaque belt or with thin suspension belt similar to Hugh de Cavelly effigy??
Please don't say yes or I might just have to do it - stupid postage prices be damned...
regards
Oze.

If you do this, make sure you let Eirik at Munitions Grade Arms know, so he doesn't mail a waster strait to you in error.

Just a thought. People who portray samurai tend to care about their appearance on the field (at least the ones I know do).
Could there be a market for rattan carved in a similar fashion for easterners?
It may be a smaller, but more dedicated niche.

I know, twas awesome to see them, and made me envious in wishing to have a set of weapons from you for sure. Hoping to get them to inspire me to make some gauntlets so I can use such great looking weapons

I'd love to see a picture of the finished product. I wasn't entirely happy with the one pugio I have made, but it was made to somebody else's specifications (handle longer than the blade, etc).
