Post by Pitbull Armory »

Hi Im selling these black Y shaped Helm Straps made from 3/4 inch wide, 9 oz (1/8 inch) leather, with borders and a buckle for 15 and 5 for shipping. The Y shape keeps the helm from sliding around and covering your eyes.

Paypal to leiderandy@yaohoo.com if you want some I have many instock.

Buckles my vary in shape and color.

Also comes with dome headed rivets and washers.

Thank you

Now thoes are nice and reasonably priced.
Jolly well done.
How would one attach them to the D-rings inside the helm?

I bet they would work great with a rivet and washer.
Like my spangenhelm leather suspension bands.

I could use a pair, as I could not produce one at such a good price.

Best of luck with your sales little pilgram.

Hal

PS: What about a kit like this?

One assembles it to his size.
I know it is not for SCA... However there are other venues.
Just an idea for leather workers.
The helm suspension worked for me.

A little suggestion, for sca helmets. Put the strap or tongue a little longer so it can be pulled tight. Plus, from personal experience, the buckle right under the chin is super irritating, so put that on the cheek area.

Hi

Post by Pitbull Armory »

Hi there, No prob Hal Ill send you a set with your gun holster and belt. Im not sure how the D rings work but these are made to be riveted in place. Thanks for the pic of the suspension rig Hal ill be useing alot of my scrap leather for that in the future now that Ive seen how its done.

Hi Agnarr, Did you mean to leave the male end extra long? The straps shown were for a small girls helm (below) so I didnt make them any longer than they needed to be. I will certainly be leaving the ones im not installing extra long though. Is it possible to use the buckle when its up inside the helm on your cheek? It dont seem like you could use the buckle with a closed face helm if it was on your cheek. Or do you just set it and pull the strap on and off over your chin with the helm?

I forgot to mention that there is a left and a right because the Y is offset a little.

Thanks for your input guys

Have a good weekend

Your manequin looks cold!

This is a decent price for these. The y's eat up a lot more leather than seems reasonable for a strap.
It looked better in my head....
Damnit.
