If so? How was it done to make it legal?

depends on your state laws, many require no paperwork for a face to face sale.

I have and it is quite easy.

The law says nothing about selling, but it does talk about TRANSFER.

As long as the sender and the recipient of the gun are legally allowed (i.e. not prevented) by law to own a gun, as and long as you follow the legal procedures to transfer the gun, there is little issue.

Most of the time the problem is getting to a decent deal of value in exchange.

I traded evenly a gun for a hauberk to Halberd, and after we agreed on the swap, it was just a matter of sending the gun in the way the law requires. (i.e. through a FFL dealer who must receive the gun on behalf of the recipient and is responsible for the checks according to state and Federal law.) It worked like a charm, and Hal -being the gentleman he is- was fantastic on his end.

As long as you find a good trading partner to do it, it is quite straightforward. It is really like an interstate sale, but the "seller" gets the value, the "payment" in armour instead of money.

Does this help you at all?

PM me if you need detailed guidance.

Yes the firearm receiver in Texas must receive delivery through a licenced FFL dealer.
Back ground check and paperwork is handled by the dealer.

This is what I got in trade for a riveted maile shirt. :D

I love it when a plan comes together.

Well, I have a WASR-10 (semi) with 1,000 rounds with 4 mags and a H&K 9mm. I was possibly looking to get a 14th Cent kit going for once. Im still on the fence.

If the person is close enough you can just hand them over in person. Though to mail something you need a FFL dealer. *edited for spelling :P)

I might be willing to part with the WASR-10 plus mags for a mild steel 14th Cent bascinet for a 24" head with interchangable bargrill and (houndskull or klapvisor) hinged on sides or forehead, all for SCA heavy. Or something close to it.
