Hello,
I am looking for a source for 0.5oz vegetable tanned calfskin. I used to purchase through a local store, unfortunately they went out of business and retired out of the country. I can't get a hold of the owner to ask his source. I have been emailing every leather store I know of and the lightest weight I can find is 1oz (and even this seems fairly rare) which is to thick for what I want. I use it to make cord-wrapped grips, and on occasion to cover scabbards.

Look for bookbinding suppliers convenient to you. Calf skiver isn't common but its out there.

Thanks, I had not thought of bookbinding suppliers as a place to look. I will try this.
