I should note there is absolutely nothing wrong with this caparison other than it is fancier than the client anticipated. Having seen it all together, he wants something more subdued.

Wait, the guy supplied his own fabric, took it to a professional, and didn't expect it to look magnificent?

The mind boggles.

I forwarded this link to some horse owning friends of mine.

Well, to be fair he's rather new to things and this was his first caparison. He liked the fabric, it just turned out a bit more 'bling-y' than he anticipated.

If anyone's interested in the historical data-

The Knight from the Pynson edition of Geoffrey Chaucer's 'Canterbury Tales', 1492. This is one of the images I referred to for inspiration for this caparison.

This image of a foliate patterned fabric was also used as inspiration for this caparison design

Was he afraid of having to pay a tax for conspicuous consumption? :P

New week, so I'm going to bump this back up. Please forward to anyone who does equestrian stuff and may need a new caparison.

This is ready to use out of the box, but certainly could be tarted up with your own heraldry!
