Simple enough looking for heavy padded linen helmet liner for a kettle helm...

This is where I got mine.

One of my best armour purchases in 15 years of fighting.

Looks awsome. Where did you get the waxed linen thread that they recommend?

I get mine from Tandy Leather Factory, it's great stuff.

Thanks. Once I knew where to look...

Tandy is expensive. I only buy from Tandy if I need something urgent enough that I'm unwilling to wait for shipping. There is a Tandy store in town.

Lol, exactly the same here as I have one ten minutes from my house and it feeds my instant-gratification demon.

Does anyone sell a liner with an integral cloth aventail (cloth drape below the helm and over the neck area)?

(And yes I know aventail is generally used to refer to the maille attached to the bascinet but I can't think of a better term)

Heat-wise, wouldn't a neck drape over the helmet be better than a padded one inside?

Thanks Blackoak but they only seem to sell liners for Bascinets and I don't want to spend that much to have to cut the bugger in half.

I wear mine in a conical, not a bascinet.

I have a red linen one made by hammer breaker. From memory it has 6 flaps that join in the middle and is designed to be suspended. I'm in Australia so I'm not sure what shipping would cost but it should fit in a padded envelope and not be very expensive if you're interested.

It is unused.
