WTB conical or spangen helm for sca. I would like ss and a aventail. For a 24" head (800$ and under) Thank you

For a spangen my immediate recommendation is White Mountain Armory, but Adam doesn't usually work in stainless. You might want to give him a shout and see, but I doubt it. My helm is from Adam (in mild) and is bomb proof.

Iron Monger makes a good deal of helms in stainless at good prices. Not sure they make a spagen but they make a nice conical Norman (though no aventail).

And of course every review I've ever seen of Shamrock Jamie makes anything you send him pictures of at a good price with quick turn around and I've never seen a bad review.

Additionally, if you're going with SS for care and maintenace purposes, Richard Knotwolf makes helms with a period anti-rust russeting technique.

my made to order norman conical was $500 through Windrose Armory, and the aventail usually runs about 250 for flat welded. the quality is outstanding, and the turn around is pdq. i recommend them whenever i can.

You get a lifetime warantee stainless steel conical helm ($695) a flat ring, riveted stainless steel aventail ($245) and the installation of the avantail ($200) all for $795!!! We can also give you brass spangen bands and/or blacken the whole helm as an option.
