Review: James River Armoury

I recently commissioned a bar grill from Eric Joseph, James River Armoury. I've had my bascinet since 06 made by beathan at armour and castings which included a Pig nose visor. After recently finding out i'm nearly blind in one eye, I decided to break down and loose mafioso points and buy a bar grill, that's where Eric came in...

I could not find anyone to pick up this commision! And after making several calls, emails etc. Eric responded. I was pleased by his willingness to work with me, Definately a 5 out of 5 for communication. I'll be frank, I can be pretty demanding and make a lot of inquiries on progress etc. Eric was quick to respond to all email's, pm's, and phone calls within a couple of hours, and at the very least daily.

Price was great, 5 out of 5, for a custom job I was satisfied.

Craftsmanship was good, 5 out 5, Eric did a nice job meeting all previously discussed requirements and over all I am very pleased with the entire transaction and would recommend him. Even after the post office lost my package, Eric called daily to make sure I had received the helm and was very kind, and I definitely plan on commissioning future projects.

Cheers,
-Godfrey

Pics or it didn't happen : )

It's good to see people getting good reviews

I've got some articulated stainless elbows and knees under way with Eric, and I can't fault his communication - even after I didn't reply after a few days - he made contact with me to see how I was going.

It's still going to be a while off, but I'm sure I'll be happy with the end result.

Here are some pics of the finished project, it was made by making a frame with similar outline to the pigface, a 3/4" wide 1/8" mild border tp coneect the bars with it stepped 1/4" from the 14GA part, so if a weld ever breaks, it has a backup and the whole grille can be removed for repair. The bottom bar concerned me in that I felt it may be too open, but it is in the exact same location as the bottom of the pigface. It took about 3 weeks longer than I anticipated, but I did not contemplate the need to make the hinge plus, I wanted to rework the existing T stem for safety reasons.

Temple, I am a little behind in my stainless, but I expect to be caught up by Monday, and I have cut yours out. I need to make a set of elbows and knees, which are started, then yours.
