FS: Shields for delivery at Pennsic: Oval, Heater & Big Kite
Posted: Thu Jul 14, 2011 8:06 pm
No one man, (No, not even Cuan of the Many Shields) should own something like 12 shields. That is just silly.
I'm offering these shields either locally OR for delivery at Pennsic. I WILL NOT SHIP THEM, period.
Meanie: SOLD!

First a plywood oval roughly 24"w x 36"h, that I bought from a friend thinking I would paint it up and use it for the Crusader/Saracen Battle but never got around to using. It is edged with rawhide, and hung with a basket and strap. This one is ready to go and could be fought with at pennsic. $40.00 - SOLD!
Here is the back. There is a small gap in the rawhide but nothing that would fail inspection. It also seems to have some puckering around a bolt hole in the middle of the shield. This should not affect it's durability at all.

Minie: SOLD!
This plywood heater has a very nice shape and was a tourney prize I won a few years ago. It's brand new. 24"w x 32"h. $25 - SOLD! SOLD!

No, the little model is not for sale. (Nor for eating, Nissan!)...Unless you are a Gypsy. I've told her I would sell her to the Gypsies for a while now so if you are in fact, Roma, make me a good offer here...but I digress.
Moe: SOLD!
Footman's Kite: 24w x 48h
I had this giant kite shield made to protect against the archers at the Ravine Battle at Gulf Wars, but mostly, truth be told I made it just to hassle Vitus. It's based on some 12c Footman shields I've seen, and will either made a great war shield for an average tall person or just will be just the right fit for The Mountain That Rides. I've gotten all the fun to be had out of it. Windrose made this for me a few years back. Here is a picture of it in use. I'm 6'2" for comparison:

Here is the shield in it's current condition.

It is edged and strapped but there is some significant wear to the trim lock on the leading edge. A few minutes with some snips and a little bit of trim lock from Windrose and you would be good to go for Pennsic. I'd ask that you paint over my colors or re do the canvas once the war was over.
Currently if you had this shield made to order from Windrose, it would cost you $108 dollars (not including shipping which is alot as I recall). The shield itself is in perfect condition so Can't go any lower than $90. (It is already hung after all)
Happy Shopping. Drop me a PM if you have questions.
