Reviews: CLANG, James River, and Baron Eirik

Post by Micah Nelson »

First up: Clang Armory. I bought one set of bastard sword hardware and had it at my house inside a week. I ordered some additional hardware (semi-custom, at that) last week, and I was just told it's ready to go. Solid construction, good aesthetics, and very competitive pricing. Fastest turnaround time I've seen from pretty much anyone.

Next: James River Armory. I ordered a set of Stainless Gothic spaulders from them a while back, and while the wait was longer than either of us expected (but still a good bit shorter than most armorers I've done buisness with), the end product was a dazzling pair of rust-resistant sexies I barely even feel while wearing. Great aesthetic, excellent protection (they hardly move at all when pointed), and the first set of spaulders I've ever owned where I didn't spend more time shifting them back into place than I did actually fighting.

Third: Baron Eirik. Anyone who knows anyone who's done buisness with him knows for a fact you can't beat the guy's customer service. The first time I ordered from this guy the rattan I got was epic. Straightest sticks I'd ever seen (same for everyone else in my local area for that matter), and no imperfections in anything he sent (water damage, skin blemishes, etc) at all. This time I got in on a clearance sale, and had only one little hiccup in the entire transaction. When I asked Eirik about it, not only did he very patiently explain what was up, he immediately offered a solution. Best rattan dealer on the market. Period.
Overkill is underrated.
