WTB medieval saddle...
Hey, looking for a medieval saddle that will fit a draft horse and wont break the bank. It can be used or new, just need something with more protection for jousting and mounted combat.

I tried an Iberian once - just be really careful if you get one that it truly fits. They are nice medieval looking. But most do not fit the drafts correctly. You might be able to get once custom made though. The one I tried seemed to fit but as we moved out in gait - it slid right to his side.

Check out Hightower Crafts: they make period saddles on modified western saddles and also other styles that fit over existing saddles.

On a side note - you could try finding a used portuguese saddle.... like this:

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle
