Crusader with attached aventail for sale or trade

Post by mjaay »

This helm was made by the stars over at Shamrock and is incredible. Measures about 27 around the inside and fits me at 24/25 inches padded up perfectly. Included is a mild aventail installed with some absolutely beautiful leather and decorative rivet work.

Currently has a milspec style chinstrap installed as well.

The helm is in perfect shape and has been fought in a single time. I am looking to make a change exclusively because of a persona change.

I paid 450.00 for it about eight months ago and that was NOT including the aventail. I would like to get 350.00 plus shipping.

I would also take a trade for a similar sized kettle helm.

Thanks in advance for any response!

Really sick deal on that one, I'm sure it will go fast. Great looking helm.

Shoot at 450 that was good. At 350 it's Sparta. I mean madness.

Tentative dibs.

Couple questions:

Is the helm solid sheet steel under the maille?

Is the maille butted or rivetted?

What guage is the dome?

Can you post some pictures of the helm from the side and back?

my squire brother fights with a helmet damn near identical to that one, same maker and all. it is a great helm and the sides on his are all plate steel, as opposed to slat back. they are evil looking helmets. now if i could just get him to re-size the lamallar he just bought and get it out on the field...

Sir, here is a really blury pic of the side, couldnt really do the back with my half ass phone camera.

The helm is a solid sheet under the mail in the rear.

The maille on the aven is butted, but seems very solid. The dome is 14g and is welded to the bottom half. the rivets along the bowl are just decorative.

The picture shows the side and rivet work that attaches both the maile and the chin strap. with the smaller darker ones being for the chin strap.

Can't see the picture. What shape is the dome? I can't really tell from the first pic.

Argh, camera and laptop are not working well together. If you want I can email you pics since the forum does not want to take them.

The dome is a very standard, well, dome. Not being a smart ass, just do not know how to explain it better. The front and back plate are each one solid piece and are welded to the dome not riveted.

Will work on a picture, I appoligize.
