Rivited maille for sale on auction board

Post by Dwarlock »

go here for pics.

http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/rivited.html

although it's somewhat worn, this is still a nice hauberk, and would be a nice addition to someone's kit.
I and the owner figured we'd give the folks here at the archive first shop at it, if the reserve isn't met, then we'll try e-bay.

personaly if i had the money I'd buy it myself, Although i already have a rivited hauberk, I'm thinking this could make a couple of skirts, several aventails and a lot of gussets.
for some of you armourers out there think what you could add to the price of a nice helmet if it came with a rivited aventail.

feel free to ask any questions you like, I'll attempt to answer them all

What kind of price frame were you asking.

sorry, I should have posted a link to the auction. it is

Right now the lowest bid is $300, and the reserve is set at $400, The owner may decide to sell it under the reserve, if the auction does not meet the reserve price, but even being a used shirt, I'd have trouble beliving it won't go for at least that much.

Interested is one thing. Having the $ is another matter entirely.

3 foot long, (about mid thighs on a 6 footer) and will fit up to a 55 inch chest acording to Historic Enterprises, I 've never put it on a 55 inch chest, but i'll admit it has plenty of room on a 46 inch one.
I've seen this shirt on much smaller folks too, It like most maille can contract quite a bit.
