Spring steel vambrace splint auction

I'm doing a limited run of 410 steel vambrace splints for auction. They'd work well riveted to either the inside or outside of a simple leather vambrace. 410 is a "stainless" spring steel. My kitchen knives are made of the same alloy, and I've never seen them rust. The sabatons I made in the same stuff haven't rusted. That said, if you sweat on them all day, never oil or wax them, and leave them in the heat, they will develop a reddish patina. It's easy to scrub off with pretty much anything. A clean sweat sock will do it; it's faster with a Scotchbrite pad. Because these are spring steel, they're light weight, very durable, and not bulky, so they may be a good choice for hidden armour. These have a slight curve to help them sit comfortably on your arm, the rivet holes are pre-punched, and two of the splints on each arm are slightly longer to give you the coverage you'll want on the outside without the plates digging into your bicep on the inside.
These are fired and tempered, so there's some unevenness in the color from the flame. I left the surface of this set heat blued, which should stay pretty well despite substantial abuse.
I'll start the bidding at $25 for the pair.

I have seen these first hand even help some in the making of them. They will work very well and lighten your arms up if you are looking for these kind of splints.

I forgot to include any mention of shipping in the initial note. My fault, and I don't want to screw anyone over, so shipping is included. If you a number (I'm assuming US dollars), that's all you pay to get it to show up at your door.

ROFL
Norse? More like computer geek from back in the day, that worked with Beowulf clusters. Although I did find a fondness for the epic after being labelled Grendel by my co-workers.

I got a PM inquiry about the length of these. The two longer splints in each set are 17.4cm long and the shorter ones are 15.9cm long. It's possible to make these guys work as splints for your shins if that length is about right for you.
