Sex life not what it used to be?.... you need a hat!
Russ promises me that these hats bring on the women. Rumor has it hats like these are the only reason that he managed to bring home his lil hungarian bride....
If it worked for Russ it will work for you, buy one of his imported felt hats today! At $30 ($60 fur lined) thier cheap enough to buy several.

warning your results may vary. It may just be possible that Russ is just a nice guy and it had nothing to do with the hat at all......... but I'm buying one.

sigh I've got all the wrong hats, I'm 26 and all I normaly get is offers from underage girls. (no I'm not taking them up on those offers)
However If any of you want an underage attracting hat and would trade one that attracts slightly older ones I'd be willing to trade.
(I've got 2 of these underage atracting hats, however as one is a movie artifact (clint eastwoods hat he wore in fist full of dollars) the hat that has been on film might cost a bit more. I also have a hat that attract short old heavy bald men, strangely enough I never wear it, and it's really cheap.

I should buy one of those hats too! I could get all kinds of chicks with that! What...wait...why is my left ring finger hurting? Ow! All...life...being...drained...can't...feel...any...emotion for opposite...sex...I'm feeling an overwhelming sense of monogamy...

Dammit, Shameless, why don't I ever meet any lady fighters like you?
Seriously, those are great looking hats, and similar to a lot of pictures of medieval Bohemian outfits I've seen. I'd like to see more hats in the SCA; in most of the periods we play with, you weren't considered fully dressed without something on your head.

Not only that... on the steppe you not only weren't dressed: if you were hatless it meant you were a slave!
Clay, them single guys don't have a clue.
Try the magic of giving your wife a hat Sometime. Wives like hats. Hats are good for wives. You'll remember why you married her. (She'll remember why she married you, too... free hats!)

Dmitriy,
those hats are made after a reconstruction and a basic pattern of a Hungarian hat from the 10th-11th c.; Similar hats, however, are all around the steppe areas of Mongolia and what nowadays China's certain provinces. Additionally, some 14th c. Hungarian wallpaintings and manuscript illustrations showing the same basic form (with the upturned wide brim, either conical or rectanglar shapes), with some Italian paintings from the mid-14th c. onwards.
Unfortunatley I don't know much about the color schemes, but we can ask our friend in Hungary who partly made mine for last Christmas as a present (that's the grey on above). The brown (yes, I know...)
was made as a custom piece for Russ by a hatmaker on a fair, hence the lavish decoration, which, by the way mirrors authentic 10th c. Hungarian/Magyar patterns.

You drop me a line at russnanna@yahoo.com, and then I give you an address... see the Hungary post below. Shameless is more excited by these hats than she is the sharp and pointy things (hey, Janos, maybe you're right...), so this one's mroe active, even though it's the auxiliary thread.

Dammit. She's married.
Is it just me or am I the only single person on this board? No offense Shameless, I love to joke. I guess I should get one hat for every day of the week. Maybe that would bloody help.
Personally though, I'm STAYING single. It's much more fun that way. Especially when you are as handsome as me. Maybe I should be the official hat model for the archive.

Seriously, are the hats unisex? How long are tehy available? I would like to get one but wouldn't be able to for a bit.

If you check under the "Hungary re-enactment gear" thread you'll find the availability dates: basically, when I go over, I pick it up. I have to have money in hand by May 14, no exceptions, as I have to pay cash on the barrel when I pick up the gear. I may try to do an import thing from this, but I doubt that these hats are THAT sexy... and yes, they're unisex. You can wear any hat you like, although your husband may like you better in the ones with the cute upturned ear flaps...
