Darkmoor Armoury - A Review

Post by sarnac »

Well I purchased a helm top from our own PoD.

Now I know that Clay is waiting with baited breath to see what I say so let me address him first....

RELAX!!!!

Any way the Helm top I ordered from him was one of his rivited, round top style helms.

The quality of the top was very good.
The construction of the top was very solid and pretty well uniform.
There was some scaling still left on the top but it came off with little effort from a grinder and a wire wheel.

There was only one problem...
The sizing of the helm was wrong.
When I brought this to his attention, he was very apoligetic and told me to keep the one he had made that was wrong, and told me he would get me one sized correctly ASAP.
I was pleasently surprised by this.

I would reccommend this guys work to anyone who wants to make a decent helm but doesnt have the resources to do the major amount of dishing required for a helm.

Nice job Clay.
I am looking forward to getting the top and I already have a buyer for the finished helm from the top that was wrong.

No worries boss, you have my business.

Thanks Bob! And I think I would have been much more relaxed if I had made the helm top properly the first time. Thankfully, Sarnac didn't jump down my throat and rant like so many angry customers I hear about did - he alerted me to the (admittedly big) problem and asked what I could do. Thanks again Image

I'll be working on the new top tonight and hope to have it down in a couple of evenings.
