Flat Top helm interest

Just completed a flat top helmet prototype with Emorokian Arms, and we are trying to gauge interest in this as a future product.

14 ga stainless @ $300-350?
14 ga mild @ $200

What do you all think? Yes, there are a few design mistakes that are being cleared up on future versions. Also, the top is welded on the inside. Face will probably come out a little farther on future ones too.

Thanks,

George

Yeah, nose clearance is about the only thing I see wrong.

I would perhaps have a couple of the UVa guys who would bite at the $200 price. especially if the brow band was 12 ga.

I agree with Corby. Nose a little further out and top band a little thicker since its going to take the most abuse. My flattop I got from Shamrock was 12GA at top to take the abuse.

Price is very good.

I understand why you all are mentioning nose clearance from the pic, but trust me this helm is big enough ;)

I am going to change the shape of the front to address that on future helmets as the "nose" will come out a little farther. That's one fo the patter changes I am thinking about making.

Also, I am considering doing the top band as one piece rather than two- thoughts?

Thanks!

Either way is fine, to be honest. I guess my question would be, which is easier. With the price you guys are looking at selling these at, I would go that route. Its probably either or, if I think about it. Either doing some rivets for the 2 halfs, but less clean up, or do welding and have the cleanup.

Do you mean, you want to make the top with a pounded over edge/flange and rivet it on?
OR, that the top edge/flange is currently 2 half moon shaped pieces welded to the top oval then riveted to the helm and you are thinking of making those 2 half moon pieces into one piece?

In my experience any flat top helmet will sell very poorly. So I wouldn't make a whole lot of them.
