Display Gorget Auction Ending Soon

Post by Draven »

Guys, as most of you know, I had to shut my business down a couple of years ago, when I needed to find a new home unexpectedly. During the move, I lost my tools, my shop, and all my leather and other raw materials. I didn't leave the business with any unfilled orders, for which I am thankful, but I have to start again from scratch.

Surprisingly, I did actually manage to come away with two of my display pieces. These are pieces that were designed to be used as "showcase" pieces on the webpage. Both of these were made to cater to the "flight armor" crowd. That's the folks that need lighter, easily packed gear that works well with an airline's checked bag weight limit.

The first piece is a slim line gorget that was designed to be ultra-low profile, and easily concealed for those personas that would not be wearing a gorget. I wanted this one to be sleek and smooth. The inspiration upon which I was drawing was H. R. Geiger’s alien, with the flowing, sinister lines.

My standard gorgets used to retail for $80 (US) and I will be starting the bidding on this gorget at $60(US) +actual shipping cost. I have no problem shipping out of country. There is also a chance I can APO if need be.

If you want to know the Historic value of this piece it is based off early 14th Century eastern Europe . One of my personal favorites eras of armor replication due to the high Gothic feel of it. The front piece plate is designed to glance blows away from the throat while the back plates are designed to protect the neck especially where it connects to the spine. The part that some might say is not historically accurate is how the "Scales" in the back are designed. I will admit traditionally they where more scale like but Draven and I both like to add form to our function.

For those that don't remember I started working as well as dating Draven about 3 years ago. Sorry I don't post up on AA as much but find that I read along side Draven while she is logged in so rarely have to sign in myself.
