Norse hilted rapier?

Post by Torvaldr »

Anyone seen such a thing? I had to retire from heavy combat but thought of picking up rapier again. (I used to play with it years ago.) But I do not want to change my persona.

Olafr here on the archive has one I believe. Not sure who he got to do the work. Pretty sure that Thorpe at Sunshadow could do one. As could Darkwood (pricier I suspect)...

With the growth of cut and trust a lot more intresting presonas have started turning up on the rapier list. Henwai is on the low end usualy around 60-75 for the blade, a basic cross guard can run anywhere between 35-120 depending on detail and materials.

How soon do you want to be on the list.

Thanks for the information everyone. It is going to be a while before I can afford to get involved with rapier. Money is incredibly tight still, so soon after buying the house. And I still have a lot of repairs and other work to do. So unless I can manage some barter deals for what I need, I will have to piece at it a bit at a time.

Here's what I did... it's a Safeflex blade with hardware stripped off a commercially available "viking" sword.

That looks great. I have that sword you are talking about but I don't want to take it apart. Maybe I can find someone with a broken one that is willing to part with it.

Combine it with a spear or Dane axe as a rigid parry. ;)
