Disaster, My steel ruled dies disappeared

The dies I use to make my scales and lamellar have vanished during my move. I have gone through every single box, tub, and tote, and can't find them anywhere. That is over $500 worth of dies I can't afford to replace. All my money has been tied into the purchase of the new house and it's repairs. Eventually I am getting $2000 back from the escrow account once the repairs are done and inspected, but that is still a few months away. Does anyone here on the archive make steel rule dies? Would you be willing to barter for it or work out a payment plan? This doesn't quite put me out of business, but scale coats and lamellar do make up quite a bit of my business. Minimum I need 2 dies. One for dragon scales and one for lamellar.

Don't feel bad. In plain sight is always the last place I check too.

I am so glad you found them. When I first read your post I didn't even know what to say. But don't feel bad, I do the same sort of thing after deployments. I will wake up and reach for my M4 and then freak out when I can't find it. After 10-20 minutes of frantic searching I'll remember it's locked up in the Arms Room at the Company.

Gremlins! I spend hours looking for my *2* tape measures lately when I had to have a 10'+ measurement on the new door installation. Finally I moved a set of welding gloves and one of the tapes was under them---when I replaced the gloves the other tape was where I had moved them to---bright yellow green case that evidently I couldn't see when I moved the gloves to cover it---uncovering the other tape measure...

I have been hand cutting scales out ten and twenty at a time from scrap I purchase from torvaldr...
Its rought on my hands after half an hour with a sharp utilty knife.
I would hate to think what it would be like with authritis.

glad you found them, I would sugest Hot pink or other vibrant color to help find them next time.

The "Thing Blindness" goblins are messing with you again,Tor.

I leave out a bowl of peanut M&Ms for them, and it appeases them most of the time these days.

Light up a big fatty. Relax cause you'll always find it in plain sight or the last place you look.

I've alway thought they moved things when they hid things from me. Blindness makes more sense since the things I am not succeceding in finding are often right where I left them when I do!
