Dwarlock goes broke, and a friend needs help, big sale from

Post by Dwarlock »

Hi, I've got a friend in a bad spot, and I'm trying to help out. Doing so is killing me financialy, and I need money.
So basicaly everything in my private colection is up for sale. I don't realy need a huge ammount of money, but what I need I need quick.

Once I get what I need, all items not sold will remain in my colection, frankly I don't want to sell any of this, but the situation is more important than my toys.

This is just a heads up, I'll be posting pics, and item descriptions in this thread soon.

If you see somthing you like let me know, and note since I need the money quick, if you can't have a mo in prioraty mail the next day please don't make an offer. (item prices will reflect the cost of you shipping money quickly)

I need some GOOD gauntlets... I've bought other guy's good gauntlets and couldn't wear them. It looks like I need something with a glove sewn in or something like that. My hands have taken a lot of abuse in the past and I really want full gauntlets that I can use instead of the usual half gauntlet and basket hilt. I hate baskets... I'm funny that way. I'm a 5'8" guy with hands proportionate to the rest of me... I guess about a medium. Let me know. ;-) If you want to that is... sirnomadlv@aol.com ugly/used is JUST FINE. I'll just spray paint 'em black anyway most likely jto make them as unobstrusive as possible. I'm doing early period, I'd rather pretend the hand protection didn't exist 'cause it won't match the rest of my kit anyway. BTW I haven't been able to fight with, and this has been my biggest obstacle, loaner gear is... to put it mildly... crap. ;-)

Yup, I would be one of those newbies interested in buying up just about any sort of armor you have. Looking forward to seeing what you've got.

Ok here's alist, and links to pics, note most of this stuff isn't my own work, it's stuff I've bought or traded from others. Unfortunaltly I never get to keep anything I make.

Also there are some non armour items here, some are cool, some just odd, but thought I'd include them

Dwarlock's old fire proof suit. Great for flame wars, exploring volcanos, the ocational home fire, blackening helmets, and walking through bon fires.

Warning although I've walked through large bonfires with this suit on it is old, and I make no guarentees that you will survive.
This is officilay called an alluminized proximity suit, made my kingd pt mfg co. it is a medium, but ought to fit up to a 42 or slightly larger chest.
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/suit.html

next item, is the hat worn by Clint Eastwood in the movie, "Fist Full of Dollars"

I have no clue what it's worth, and have no documentation for it, it was a gift from a friend, who happend to be working lights and sound for the set. I hate to even offer it (it was a gift) but I suspect my friend would agree with my selling it.

Feel free to make an offer.

http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/hattts.html

numerous padded coifs, I haveleather coifs with sheepskin padding, leather coifs with wool padding, 2 color reversable coifs, plain leather no padding , leather coifs quilted with wool padding, etc....

I'd be looking for about $5 for the plain leather unpadded coifs, and $25-$30 for any of the others. These are entirley hand made, and hand stiched. Also these will never sell cheaper from me. some of them had 6-8 hours invested in them.

http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/coifsss.html

my absolute first ever prototype splinted arms. These are rough, very rough, but they are stainless, on leather, with wool padding, and an acrilic liner. Even being rough they get a lot of complements when I've worn them.

Note this is vambraces, and rembraces only, no elbows. Custom buckles on vambraces.

$50
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/arrrrms.html

My first set of splinted legs, patterns not yet posted on the archive.

These are very clean legs, and move wellthey are stainless on leather, and have more rivits in them than you can immagine. They are in like new condition (been worn to 2 ren fests only) and were briefly on MTV (I was wearing them when I was asked to say a few things to the camera.)

I'm asking $150 for them, and I rather suspect I'll be charging near twice that if they are ordered as a commission.

http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/legssss.html

1 spanish WWII helmet, cleaned up, and polished to look like a sallet. Has some dammage from weapons testing. might make an interesting dress helm.

$15
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/spanishh.html

many swiss WWI malitia helmets, all paint has meen removed, and helmets are cleaned up nicely, they have leather liners. might make a cool dress helm. they have a somewhat salletish look. (note they are high carbon steel, and heat treated)
$25
Note I have several that are still painted black as well, for $20
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/mili.html

An 18 gauge pig face Bassionet, with aventail, and sheepskin liner. looks very nice, but unfortunatly isn't sca legal. One heck of a helm for the ren fest though.
$200 obo

A silly looking helm
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/sillyh.html
$20

2 claymores. both very large.

$50 each
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/claym.html

A Wisby type 1 and a type 3 Stainless plates on leather, with inner lining. The type one has some added leather plates in the back for additional protection

I'd like $100 out of each

as for sizing, they'll fit almost anyone, they are very adjustable. however the closer you are to 6 foot and about 180-240 lbs the better they'll fit.
http://www.geocities.com/ebenezum.geo/coss.html

I've got more comming, but I need to take a break, will post more soon.

Dwarlock,

You've got quite a bit of rather good stuff. I would HIGHLY suggest that you go to e-bay with this -- your number of possible buyers, and price would both be greater...and possibly with greater speed. We are but a simple thousand people, stretched out over the world...with only about a hundred regular visitors.

By the way, if money is the problem, I will send you a check for the amount of money (and plus a bit to even it up) that it would cost to send you the "World's Ugliest Gauntlet". You did win the contest, and if you need money more than another piece of armour...I will send the money that it would cost to send the gauntlet. The gauntlet could live easily in your memory, with less room to crowd you out of your room.

wow, I realy must have underpriced the cops.. I've been swamped by e-mail, and the messages here, I'm gona read through everything and try to figure out who was first. I'll get back to everyone late this evening.
btw the type one is the white, and the type 3 is the grey.
Also the swords, the are not sharpened, but do have somewhat of an edge, and the crossguard is a bit loose on the brass one.

Also I forgot to mention this, but the I can't guarentee shipping to anywhere outside the US (sorry folks) Shipping will occure the day or day after I recieve the MO, and while i didn;t think of mentioning it I origionaly planed on the buyer paying shipping, however as it was not mentioned, for anyone who's already contacted me, I'll eat the shipping cost.

I'll get bact to you all later, when i find out who caught me first on the cops.

Nope, the hat isstill up for sale, I've gotten a few offers, but so far nothing that I was willing to accept. I do appriciate all the offers made, but the hat is somthing I'm realy reluctant to part with, so the offer that gets it (if any) will have to be prety good.

(however the padded coifs are cool too, I'm realy supprised no one's bit on them, I've been offered somtimes twice as much before.)

Oh yes, i can accept pay pal, but I don't have a business account, so only $100 a month (if I realy had to I guess I could upgrade it)

Well, I am definitely interested in one of the two (the one without the spikry bits on the blade), and might be willing to get the other one. Email me (at galak@fordham.edu) the cost to ship (to the 11103 zip code), and I will paypal the money tonight. If you want to upgrade to the business account, I'll take both.

Sorry for not sending this via email, but I'm having trouble with it at work right now.

ok I found some more stuff

I've got the barbie cam for sale.

complete with barbie photo designer

This is basicaly a small cheap digital camera that i bought so as not to have to buy an expensive one. It works reasonably well, but isn't realy impressive.

It however is dirt cheap, and will seperate from your computer. while seperated from your computer it'll take 20 pictures

I couldn't find out what it sell for now, but I paid $50 for it not that long ago, I'd gladly let it go for $20 buyer pays shipping. I've got all the instructions, and the cd, as well as the camera.

and about 40 pcgammer and pc accelorator cd's with reviews, and loads of game demos, make an offer

I've also got a few more swords, pics and descriptions comming up soon. If somthing on the origional list interested you, but you don't like the price, feel free to make an offer, If things continue to deteriate i'll likely accept.

Not that there were any doubts, Dwarlock was great to deal with. Very good quality CoP, (even if malaki beat me to the type 1--I'll get you! And your little dog, too!) fast shipping, awesome communication.

Thanks DW! I hope I helped you and your friend out.
